  1. alright, well i could make a dual pod for the doors pretty easily and put two 6.5 mids per door. wondering if that would work, im not trying to go to crazy on customizing pods for my doors so if i go to sell my car i dont get to attached to it. but I was thinking 8 6.5 pwx crescendos running on their c1100.4@ 2ohms I have no input on the crescendo drivers. 2 6.5 per door could work. It's not great for imaging, but at least it would be in the direction of the loudness you want, and avoid speakers in the center console. Not sure that I would bother with the rear doors, but I'll leave that up to you. You still need to decide what you would use for tweeters, and how much space you have on the a-pillars.
  2. But before ordering any processor you need to figure out the speaker situation.
  3. Your going to need to clarify the "8 6.5 two per door." Putting drivers in the center console is a bad idea. It won't attribute anything positive except pure loudness. Not sure which is worse: bunch of speakers mounted behind you, or speakers in center console, but both are frightening. Oh and your headunit doesn't offer the processing you need. Thankfully the minidsp is easy to use, has tons of flexibility, and costs much less than most other processors. IIRC I got mine for about $150ish. The one I had before that was $500, and it even had less flexibility over everything!

still is sukka! It's slutty outfit day. I am tempted to go to a bar just to peep some fly ladies. How could I forget! On my knees I beg forgiveness. I saw one girl dressed up today, and it was not pretty. Perhaps tomorrow will bring in all the drunk ones that didn't have time in the morning to change into something normal.
  5. will do on the measurements. haha been too busy to really get into this build so far. but overall what kind of sound processors should i be looking into? or does that all depend on the speakers i go with? If you go with one mid and one tweeter per side then you will need a processor that handles 4 channels, or advertised as "2-way." Since your on a budget, and the processor is just awesome, I'd take a look at the minidsps. Also what's your headunit? It's unlikely, but perhaps you bought one with processing.
  6. If your solely interested in loudness than yes you could put speakers behind you, on the box, but I can't promise you'll like the results. Have you looked to see how the speakers mount on your front doors? You may be able to make a spacer out of mdf, and possibly fit a larger speaker. You should also measure the depth you have to work with as it's not very helpful to recommend speakers that simply don't fit.
  7. Yes sorry about leaving out the detail. my budget is 4000$ total and im already got about 3000 tied up in amps, subs, and the head unit. so im working with around 1000$ still in need of a battery, so honestly 500$ tops. the two tweeters would run on the a pillars, the 6.5 would be one per door, if thats going to be able to keep up with the subs. which i hope it will, but any ideas before i buy would be nice. overall goal is to be loud but still have some sound quality too. would 6.5 be loud enough to keep up with those? thats as big as i can fit in the doors with out making my own door panels. No it won't keep up with your subs. Don't expect to appropriate so much money in one category, and expect the other category with a fraction of the budget to perform on par. On par in this instance being loudness. Since your planning a loud bass setup I don't expect you really care about SQ, but rather just having the mids and highs clear, and loud enough that they can actually be heard over the bass. With your budget you will have to compromise. Ideally large pro audio mids would likely be what your looking, but 6.5 isn't going to cut it. Fiberglassing new door panels / speaker mounts for larger speakers would help, but require a good bit of time and money. How much space do you have up on the a-pillars for "two tweeters?" Perhaps a pair or two of large format tweeters. $500 for speakers, amp, and a processor is cutting it close.

Awesome. Now you just have to replace all the candy with fruit and veggies. Halloween was definitely one of my favorite holidays.

*King Hornet in this case. Hows Aidan's Halloween?
  11. To the original poster of this thread: your best bet is to do some research on both companies, and see which has better customer service. I apologize for blowing this out of proportion, but the fact is that you can't accurately get the answer your looking for. Another thing to consider is that there needs to be a significant difference in power to audibly tell any difference. A significant difference that is very unlikely to be found between those two amps.

I've happily kicked the hornet's nest.
  13. You won't find any solid info. Boils down to which ever company has the better price, customer service, enough people to say "It's so loud" "it's better than sliced bread," and the occasional clamp test that shows it's super-under-rated-epic-awesomeness--distortion level what?.

That's sweet. Better not leave your watch, or Ima snag that xcon.
  15. No one wants to PM another person concerning something you said.
  16. 99% of the amp tests performed by the average person are completely useless, and prove absolutely nothing. They never account for all the variables.
