Maybe it's just me, but I don't think it's fair to say that protein doesn't help in the muscle building process in general when you have group A's results similar to group B's results, and both contain the same amount of protein. I wonder what their results would have been if each group ate more kcal, and the test group actually received more protein.

Average weight for the test subjects was ~167lbs, both got ~77g total protein per day, and 2750 kcal.
