  1. Will I be able to properly power the sub with just 2400W? and if that is enough power, I am looking for it to be a daily driver so what options should I put on it? I am kinda leaning towards either the BTL or Mayhem but I dont know if my amp can power them properly. There is no such thing as under powering a speaker. "2400w" is plenty for a btl or mayhem.

Not sure. Thought about calling Aura's head designer to find out, but figured I should look on the internet first Those are the Mobile Reference drivers. They came out along with the originals but were tailored for automotive use. I remember auditioning a pair of these roughly 10-12 years ago, but could not justify spending $1K on a driver. IIRC, these were the first $1K retail driver in the automotive world. The specs are within uncertainty/repeatability of the NS drivers. Makes me want to buy a pair as I actually really like the way they look. Grill them most of the time with speaker fabric and then BAM take the grills off. If I had $400 to blow, there would be a pair vibrating my sac right now. I don't really have a need for them and have plenty of drivers that will do more or less what they will BUT I want them anyways. Guess who just happens to be looking for drivers? Are they on a sale or just reg pricing? Sale. Not sure they are geared for what you want. Can get crazy when driven like anyone on SMD would do. (assumes they are like the NS). As for the situation, sale price. One of two things though. Either these are on sale and new old stock or these are re-issues now being built by the Chinese company that bought Aura last year. If they are new old stock I'd expect them to be sweet, Chinese remakes might be fine as well but I bet the variance between the drivers will be much higher. I definitely need to look more into them, but at first glance they look sweet and are made by aura. Or I may end up with the new icon model. Who knows

  5. I was going to say if you were just looking for a way to seal the driver against the baffle, you could use foam or butyl. I have no idea if anyone makes 21" gaskets, good luck man.
  6. Haha, do it! I wanna see high 50s
  7. If you were anyone else, Id probably give some smart ass response to this. If you wanna get louder, do it. You got the space.

Enjoying those strong fundamentals are you? Still better than the actual NBA Whenever my friends and i go to bdubs, we watch WNBA and every shot they miss, we take a drink.. and keep going. Funny, except being a bdubs. What a fucking waste of a chain. Everything about the US I hate is epitomized in that shit hole. Yeah, not many local places around base. kinda shitty, i hate chains. They have great commercials though. I've never actually seen one. Im starting to think I was thinking of the wrong commercial. Everyones eating wings n shit watching the game, then they pick up the phone and talk to the ref... Guess its not buffalo wild wings, err, I don't watch enough tv.
  9. You mean a rubber gasket? Did you lose yours?

  11. I would have kept the JL amps, but since you don't have them anymore, I'd likely opt for the Zed. Just my opinion though.
  12. Adjusting seat positions, ac vents, sun visors, etc will also give similar results, in the aspect that it'll help on the meter but you won't hear any difference.

Probably answered but I'll throw in my 2 pennies. For Antivirus I would get AVG free. I've used it for years and have had no virus'. If you don't use Office stuff that often or if you want to try it out google docs is getting pretty good and its free. I totally forgot about the office portion. I use OpenOffice, it's awesome, it's free.

Yesterday I was watching a show on sheep dogs, my cat was glued to the tv! I stood in front of him and he'd stick his neck out to the side to see around me. Awesomeness.
  18. I hope it's something Chris can fix. Ugh crap situation :/

To be honest I don't have any anti virus software on my computer. In the past, or for family computers I've used spybot search and destroy to get rid of a lot of shit. Worked pretty well. There was another software that was lightweight. It had a basic installer, you never saw the thing unless you started it yourself. Once started it connected to the dev. site and downloaded updates for new virus' then started scanning locally for any matches. I can't remember the name though, I'll try to google for it and post it later. Oh and the gui was yellow / gold, NOT norton, ringing any bells anyone?

My aunts comp is always utterly fucked because she downloads all these toolbars, plugins, and programs for watching free tv and movies. Fucking adware out the ying yang.

I've had good luck with spybot search and destroy. Biggest thing is, just don't download a bunch of random bullshit from websites, p2p networking, etc.
  23. ssh replied to mrray13's topic in Off Topic
Yeah. So if you buy win7 and it happens to come with a norton free cd or some shit, just throw it away.

I agree shit changes fast, therefore I don't know shit about anything new. Only advice I can say, don't use Norton software, it's a mega pain in the ass.

I'd sad a pretty lousy week. The cpu fan went out on my fathers comp a few months ago. I thought I'd just order another fan but it was built into the heatsink. So order another heatsink and figure I can just pop the old one off and pop the new one on. Well the fucker mounted from the backside... Had to pull everything out, ugh. It's ironic how much I use to love computers and now one could almost say I despise them. (working on them, that is. Or the occasional family member going "hey you know computer stuff, fix my comp")
