You could use the12volt, but how would you know you have enough port area? And how would you calculate port displacement for NET volume if the port length itself is dependent on the net volume? If you can't figure this out or don't want to spend the time to figure it out, contact someone that designs enclosures and pay them to do it. I've heard great reviews for Ram Designs. Either way, do it right, or don't do it at all.

I don't know the technical reasoning but I can just say: Have you ever been to a live a concert, or heard a band play on some stage? Did it sound killer? Now were they playing in front of you, or behind you?

Before considering a Mac, make sure all your software applications that you want to run, can run on osx. Or use bootcamp, dual boot, and install windows xp/7 on the mac as well.

If you do decide to cut out part of the rear deck, you could have the port fire up instead of back. Then fire through the rear deck, just build a beauty panel to make it clean. You could use an aero port and it would be relatively easy, but that starts adding up if your on a budget.

That's plenty of volume. Download Winisd if you don't have it, create a new driver profile, fill out all the T/S specs for your kickers. Make a new project, fill everything out, go to the ports tab, pick either square (slot port) and plug in some numbers for width and height, or use round for aero ports. The program will automatically calculate the port length required for the tuning you picked earlier. Also, you will be able to see the port/vent mach, try to have that number in green. The lower the number, the less port speed and turbulence you'll have, thus less port noise.

Either way, I'm not up for guessing games.

It might help if you include the drivers your using, the size as well.

Thanks everyone. I'm certainly no fiberglass pro, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I'm going to install the drivers today when my wiring shows up, do some testing for a day or two. Then pull the kicks back out, sand, rage gold, sand, paint OEM volvo dark purple, then reinstall. May also cut open the back end when I pull them back out, see how that sounds...

Also, when you say: Fire into the trunk. I'm interpreting that as: the box inside the cabin and literally firing into the trunk. Which doesn't make much sense. Do you mean the enclosure will be inside the trunk, firing rear towards the trunk hatch?

Welcome to the forums. I would love to see your fiberglass projects. Also check out fiberglassforums.com for getting more ideas / help on glassing (as it isn't a big thing here) But SSA is awesome, plenty of extremely knowledgeable people willing to help out, whether it be building a wall and getting stupid loud, or going for some killer sq.

Without numbers or anything definitive no one can help. Sounds like you either need to fire into the cabin or go with a smaller driver.
