Welcome to the IHoP
Yeah, we have a sig 556 and ruger mini30 (762), pretty different rounds. I haven't followed anything in the firearm worlds for years, but I know they were trying to make popular an "in between round" that was supposedly the best of both worlds, 6.8 or something.

What's replacing it? The 15" Z that I got from Ohjay. Too much work getting that beast into my sedan. I'm still toying with the idea of making it work though. Ah fun times, Ill have to hear whatever you end up doing.

Welcome to the IHoP
I was up at reddington pass one weekend shooting, guy pulls up, sets a piece of metal out 50 yards, shoots it with an ar15, doesn't go through, fires an ak47 and blows a hole right through. Then he says "That's the armor from my Humvee back in Iraq, and this (ak) is what their shooting us with...

Larger cone, displacing more air, less movement = less distortion. Where as smaller cone would have to move more on order to displace the same amount, more movement = more distortion. At least how I've understood it in basic terms.

8" PVC Flared ports for sale
Chart does port area for the inner diameter of circular port, since these are flared you could probably get away with less port area. The actual aero port tuning page has an option for flaring. That is if he doesn't mind. Op, ports look great.

What's wrong with your current setup? "Acoustical sound" doesn't mean much. What size is your enclosure, tuning, port area? Btls are known for spl, not sq, but they do still sound pretty good in my opinion. Now if you just want to try something new, regardless of how your setup currently stands, then that's cool too, just didn't want to skip possibly improving what you already have.

Multiple runs of 1/0...needed?
Multiple runs may help reduce voltage drop. If it was me, I'd run two sets of 1/0 from alt output stud to front battery, then two sets of 1/0 from front battery to your battery bank. I probably wouldn't run any wires from the front to the rear for negative, just make sure I'd have good grounds. Then I'd use one 1/0 wire from each battery to the next in the bank, considering how close there going to be. But that's just me.

thanks man I just love how the dustcaps look on the 10" and 12" drivers from fi/aa, and as stupid as it sounds, I love the aa logo. And the new mazdas are pretty awesome. Too bad I'm not closer for a demo.

custom Bridge Rectifieres
Yeah there's no way around the price, but I know the dc alts dissipate heat a lot better, better cooling, and so forth.
