If you get any ford with sync in it, think hard about about putting a system in it unless it is the sony upgrade with a sub output. Ran into that with a friends focus. You could do it with a laptop to stream Pandora into VLC which would "broadcast" it on the home network then use a pi with wifi that automatically plays the stream whenever it's playing. Some of the home receivers can stream Pandora too, but not sure if they let you control it via android/ios.

My surface pro 1 boots to login screen ~5-8 seconds then after logging in it's instantly on desktop, and you can disable the login / welcome screen. The surface pro 2 is probably faster and you can get LTE 4G version for internet and GPS. Only thing I don't know is how you would make it turn on from ignition. Might check out Not to mention you could open up the minidsp program for easy tuning.

check out plex, they have client software for just about everything. i have it on a vps so i have music and movies wherever i go, but its mainly geared for what you want.My buddy shares his account with me and he'll get me any movie I ask for within a day or two. He also shares his in-laws watchespn info. Wife has her moms netflix account, so that leaves hulu. I really want local channels as well but the local channels here are 1.5 hours away in Tulsa so the antenna wouldn't pick them up. I'd really like Houston local channels (if I could choose) so I could get my hometown sports. It would be nice to get hgtv and others every now and the. I think there are roku channels that do that. What I do want is to need only one device in the end, and I do already have a Roku, but I'm open to change for an upgrade. Good luck with the channel hunting, I have no idea how to go about getting those. I don't know if they still exist but you could try googling: "black box satellite"
