Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Might be easier to port forward your router to the computer with the home automatation and audio stuff, then use your phone to connect to your router. If you went that route then I would add a firewall to the computer that only allows your phone to connect to the ports for the home automation and audio. If you setup a linux box then you could use firestarter for the firewall, and you could setup ssh so you could pretty much do anything. Engrish prease? Ghetto Photoshop for the win LOL. I'm presuming the home automation system has some sort of web client, so you can access it from any device on the local network. So on your home network you can connect to the home automation system by going to the ip address in firefox? IE: 192.168.1.3:443 You can use port forwarding on your router to forward all traffic connecting to the router from the outside world (internet) for a specific port to a specific computer. So if your router IP is 69.69.69.69 and it's setup to port forward 443 to 192.168.1.3 than connecting to 69.69.69.69:443 from your phone would be equivalent to connecting to 192.168.1.3:443 if you were home using wifi. First off, you rock. Thank you. I am a networking noob.ie, I've heard the term port forward before and even saw it in my HA software but had no fucking idea how it worked. Time to google some shit on PF. Just have to figure out what ports your HA software uses, and streaming ports for music. Here's a pic from my router: http://stefanhinote.com/portforward.png 192.168.1.13 is my desktop computer, and I have ssh running on port 22. SSH is terminal access to my computer, akin to command prompt on windows only it doesn't have any limitations. Running ssh within a local home network is fairly safe, but opening it up to the outside world via port forwarding as I have done is a huge security issue since anyone can now attempt to login to my computer by targeting my router. So I have a firewall on the desktop that only allows connections from one ip address (ie: my phone), and denies all others. Over a day I probably get 50+ random connection attempts from servers all over the world, mostly China lol. So I would try to find some windows firewall program to do the same for the HA service. Hell the windows firewall might do it, just have to check.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
That's much more reasonable than adding a few extra characters to a passphrase. I know you have lots of land, but it's not that difficult to pick up signals from over 1km away at times. Huh? I'd LOVE for mine to reach our beach whihc is WAY closer than that. Howz? Since it's your router, Add a yagi antenna to the router, and use another yagi to hook up to the laptop. I'd also make the passphrase even longer since you're increasing the broadcast range from the router as well. So how was the trip? How far can you reach with a Yagi and are they powered? ie, can I use the home automation to shut it off turn it on so it only broadcasts when I am on the boat? I'm going to backpedal a bit now. My original post would be for a stationary antenna with the sole purpose of picking up long distance. Best choice parabolic dish. A yagi would have less range distance, but a greater dispersion. Parabolic dish on a boat won't work. Setting up a parabolic dish at home (outside), and yagi on boat might, but I'd have to do more research. Check out: http://www.ab9il.net/index.html#wifi Might also try emailing http://www.radiolabs.com/ Both antennas (one on boat, other at home) are powered. Is the internet on your phone at the lake way slow? Otherwise you could use it as an access point instead of connecting home.

Up to 88F now lol- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Too hot? Where I work, it's never below 85. Add the nearly constant 90% humidity and you quickly learn to love 80. Yep. After doing shit outside in 100F+ weather I like to be in a cool house. Fortunately we don't get humidity here.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2
85F inside my house, this is some bullshit.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Wow. If someone came and to sell you a subwoofer and just took your money and walked out, then what? I think it is completely absurd, I wouldn't want to kill someone over any physical item... However lets say it was a man and you tackled him chasing him down. When he landed he went temple first into a curb. You didn't try to kill that dude. Technically the crime was theft, prostitution doesn't even to come into play dice he never got fucked. Legally this is a just ruling. It doesn't really feel good, and is maybe not so "ethical" however. You're changing the situation. I wouldn't shoot someone because they "stole" $150.00 from me. He could have easily gotten his money back without shooting her. you sound so sure? explain ? how do you know she didnt have a knife? or her pussy ass pimp was not outside with a gun but left when he heard the gun shots? how do you get money back from shady hookers? I said I wouldn't shoot someone because they stole some money from me. I never said I wouldn't defend myself if my life was being threatened. I'm not going to play the what if game to try and justify his actions.- Welcome to the IHoP v.2

- will it suffice
DVC, dual voice coil = two voice coils. Each 1ohm. 2x1ohm=2ohms What impedance the amplifier will see is actually a bit more complicating than wiring to "1ohm" or "2ohm," etc, but in this circumstance the above should suffice for your question. Before your purchase you can use this calculator to find out the wiring options: http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp- will it suffice
Swapping the belt at the same time may be a good idea while you're at it. Look at mileage, and cost of new belt.Depending on the aftermarket alternator it may require a relay hooked up to 12v power when key is in ignition (I think I worded that correctly. Basically it needs 12v when the vehicle is running, so it knows to turn on). My aftermarket alternator needed this, and I tested the circuits in the fusebox for power when the vehicle was on, and no power with vehicle off, than I spliced into one. Labor is going to vary largely from one vehicle to the next. I did everything in my jeep under two hours. The same job on my volvo takes almost twice as long if you've done it before. - Welcome to the IHoP v.2
