Daber Subs in use
This truck belongs to a local kid named Christian. He is running an SQL-12 in his F-150 and is powering it with a Pioneer GM-5400t. This arrangement is a bit underpowered but it still gets very loud. He will be getting it metered in the next week or so and I will post a video. My guess would be 140-141 on a term lab, but I will post the video of the metering so that you can see it when we do it. Just in case anyone is curious with this arrangement, Christian's parents had one rule: That this be a subwoofer that was easy to remove and only took up the space occupied by the rear driver's side seat. Christian had previously had a slim profile Pioneer 10" woofer, and he was shocked with the difference. By the way, this camera sucks and it seems like the microphone completely shuts off when it gets overpowered.

Enclosure Reccomended sizes for Daber subs
These are generalized recommendations that if built, will perform very well. Of course, you can use a free box program like WinISD or something similar and be able to use the T/S specs that are available on the website and come up with your own design. SQL 8: Sealed Recommendation: .35 - .6 cubic feet per driver Ported Recommendation: 1.3 - 1.8 cu. ft, tuned 31-37hz, 6-8 square inches of port per cubic foot SQL 10: Sealed Recommendation: .55 – 1.2 max. cubic feet per driver Ported Recommendation: 1.8 - 2.3 cubic feet, tuned to 30-35hz. 8-12 square inches per cubic foot. SQL 12: Sealed Recommendation: .7 min. – 1.8 max per driver Ported Recommendation: 2.1 - 3.0 cu. ft, tuned 30-35 hz, 8-12 square inches per cubic foot SQL 15: Sealed Recommendation: 1.3 min. – 2.25 max. per driver Ported Recommendation: 3.0 - 4.5 cubic feet, tuned to 28-35, 9-14 square inches per cubic foot. The DVC's are still a bit out there as far as time is concerned. I can tell you for sure that they will not be available before the sale ends. I don't know what kind of power you are trying to, or hoping to run to them, but I can tell you that they still perform very, very well when underpowered. If you had 350-500 watts to throw at an SQL-12 you would still get plenty loud.

Daber Audio 14 Day Sale @ SSA
They won't be out before the sale ends. How much power do you have at 2 ohms?

Daber Subs in use
x2. I have some pics I need to post of a local kid with an SQL-12 in his truck. Again though, it's just a standard carpeted slot port. I need to get a couple of more pics of the enclosure that went in to that boat. I would like to see someone from the forum post some pics of THEIR Daber Audio woofers

Daber Subs in use
The owner of this car left a review of his sub on the SSA store page. I have been pretty busy lately and haven't had much time to check things out and just saw it tonight. He seems very happy. He wrote: Beast Posted by Jack on 11th Apr 2010 I have this subwoofer in my 2002 nissan altima and it is definately the deepest, cleanest bass i have heard and i've heard quite a few subwoofers being as many of my friends have systems in their cars as well. I have never heard of daber before so i was kind of leery but i am definately going to continue with this brand. The only thing that poses a problem is that is is only single voice coil so it takes 800 watts at 4 ohm but i saw in the post that dvc is coming soon. i highly recommend this brand and suggest that you choose this over kenwood, pioneer, memphis, and hifonics because i have had all of these in my car and this sub blows them out of the water!" I'm glad to hear he is enjoying it" It's good to hear some feedback from you guys!

Thanks! As far as the amp goes, I figured that's pretty much what it was. I asked him where he got it and says it was a Christmas gift. I tried to tell him as politely as possible that he needed to get a real amp and let that sub hammer.

They do look similar, I agree. They aren't the same though. Kyle is running a 15 and Sionne is running a 12. I built both of those boxes and neither one of those guys wanted a real flashy box, so I just made them something that would work well and not cost them an arm and a leg.

Daber Subs in use
This will be the last one for today. This car belongs to a kid named Jack. The guy who built his box got the port WAY off square. There is 3/4 of an inch difference in width from the front of the front section to the back. I have no idea what the bend is like, but I can only assume it's off by as much. I'm trying to talk him in to getting it rebuilt. He has some old Alpine amp on it that he says is doing something like 500 watts, I can't tell you what the model number is.

This John's car. I need more pictures of this. It's nothing special looks wise, but damn does it sound good. He listens to a lot of hair band music and I give him a hard time and tell him that no subs will make Winger sound awesome, but in reality it sounds damn good. When these subs were brand new, and I mean brand new we put it on a term lab on a bitter cold day and popped off 141.2. He is running a Boston Acoustics GT-50 amp, which pops off 400RMS @ 2/ 14.4 volts. Not bad numbers for so little power. I think Sionne's car has him beat but we will find out soon.

These subs are going in a 34 foot Fountain boat. The installer has been sending me pics of his progress along the way. I think he is finishing it up and going to have it on the water by the weekend. I will post more pics as they become available. There are two 10" SQLs going in.

This car belongs to a guy named Sionne. This guy has a MTX 500d on it, which is only doing about 300 RMS @ 4 ohms. This car is ridiculous. We will hopefully be getting him to get the car to us to put a meter on it soon. It sounds phenomenal and absolutely hammers. This guy is an old school USACi competitor who got out of the game a few years ago. This is the first system he has had in three years. He said that he likes this sub more than any of the other subs he ever had. I'm trying to get him on here to write a review.

Daber Subs in use
I've got a few minutes of down time and decided to upload a few photos I have of cars (and a boat) that have our subs in use. I need to get pictures of the rest of the emailed to me, but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing a few photos. First up is a car that belongs to a guy named Kyle. He seems to be pretty happy. He has some kind of amp that I've never heard of, XXX or something like that. It's basically pushing no power to it. When he upgrades we'll try to get some meter results on it. It sounds good, but it's got a lot of room to improve with more power going to it.

How much and what would shipping be to zip 57201? Thx! This does not include the woofer, but the box I would let go of for $80 just to get it out of my woodshop. I will ship it, but you'd have to pay for the shipping. It weighs about 90 pounds I will have to wait, My yellow lab had a run in with the UPS truck this afternoon and is at the vet overnight and will need surgery on his eye. Oh good god! That sounds terrible. Good luck to you and your dog!

AC Shockwave The Xtreme Efficient SPL Subwoofer
Holy Smokes! They want $580 for 1 inch tweeters with outboard crossovers? Pfft...I could build with ScanSpeak Revelators for less money and i'm sure it would be much better.

MASSIVE steering wheel flex!
Looks fun man!

That box just can't breath in my trunk. I built a much smaller box and I am far more satisfied. If anyone has a hatchback or SUV and wants a box for a single 12, it can be yours.

A little build
Just got back from doing some testing on the SQL 12 DVC prototype. Keep in mind that I drive a GTO. I'm not sure if you are familiar with those cars or not, but let me explain something. Behind my rear seat is a solid wall of steel. The gas tank sits behind this wall of steel. The only way for sound to get in to my cabin is through two 7.5 inch holes where the stock 8 inch woofers used to be. Furthermore, I didn't build this box to be an all out ass kicking beast, it's made to be as flat and enjoyable as possible. I did with ~ 500 watts: At 25hz 132.1 At 27hz 133.5 At 33hz 135.2 and that was the peak Not exactly "huge" numbers, but I only have a total of 47.1 square inches of area that actually let sound in to my cabin. In comparison, my sales guy has two SQL 12s in a civic two door that is doing 142.4 @ 52hz with a 300 watt amp driving both woofers. We could quite easily get high 140s out of his box. Sorry if you guys were expecting insane numbers, would be happy to let someone with an actual trunk with fold down seats or a hatchback try it out with a termlab! Forgot my camera, had to meet a dealer this morning before we did this and was in a hurry. Got a print out, and if you need it, John has a picture on his iPhone.

I'm not much of a youtube guy, but I guess I do have to become one, don't I? Pics of the meter in the car take the measurement not good enough porn ? You know, I remember when we didn't have internet porn and we had to look at pictures...in magazines! Lol. I will try to take some video.
