  1. It started out with it just having a lot of static, then it began to stop playing after 1 second every time the car started and now it doesn't even play at all
  2. This shouldn't be a problem because I swapped the head units and the other one had a different wiring harness that i had to attach so unless both have a short then this shouldn't really help should it?
  3. Yea the speakers are all good just old....It's ohms shouldn't be too low cuz it played for about 2-3 months before this happened with the head unit and I don't see any reason for it to be the ohms.
  4. It just won't play music it stays on it just quits playing music.
  5. Hey guys my brother drives a 1996 Jetta GLS. The other day his car quit playing music. I know its not the head unit because I took it out and tested it and it works I even put in his older pioneer that also works and it played for about 1 second then it stopped playing music (same happened with the first head unit also). My question is what could be the problem cuz I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated
  6. Thanks I figured I would have too...I ended up looking at it again and it looks as if there are small blocks in all four corners. I guess it's supposed to hold the head unit from sliding back hopefully I'm right and will not need to fabricate a bracket but I will still need to fabricate the trim so it looks clean.

  8. Hey guys I just got my truck and it's a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 Ext Cab. I ordered a Pioneer AVH-P4200 to replace the stock head unit which is a din and a half but I will cut some of the benzel to make it fit. My question is that I cant find any mounting kits/bracket for this truck for a double din and was wondering if there is some easy way to make one or if I could buy one somewhere. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Nissan 300zx with a nice SQ setup that can still put out some spl but not overkill. Should be relatively easy and look SEXY if done correctly.
  10. Without even researching it I can probably go ahead and tell you no. Like other cheap Sound Deadeners it is probably asphalt based and will make your car smell on hot days. Along with the smell if it is asphalt based it will not last long and will fall off after 2-3 years and will leave a sticky residue on your doors and roof. If you do some research on the sound deadening forum on here you can learn alot of new things thats how I usually learn most of my stuff. What you want is a Butyl based Sound Deadener. Now someone will probably get on here and say theirs has never had any problems, but more often than not theirs is just a lucky case.

I was thinking to help with the space issue, could I create a port like opening in the rear panel to help increase the space but still keep the back seats. I've seen it done before and it doesn't look to bad and it seems like it could work?

I already have a Crescendo 3000KWP amp that puts out 3,400 rms at 1 ohms, this will be a temporary amp. The XS Power will not be the main battery but as a 2nd battery stored in the trunk. The trunk has a 16.4 Cu.ft capacity and I think it should be plenty big enough. What other information do you need?

Not sure what car it would go in yet still deciding (probably Hyundai sonata) , but yes the x's would be sealed. The main reason I didn't want 18's was the higher price and space needed. I will have a 1/0 big 3 upgrade, ho alternator, and XS power 3400 battery. For the budget I would like to keep the price of the total setup under $1,000 for the subs and enclosure but i'll be fine if its a little higher.

Hey guys it's been a while since I've posted on here and I just wanted to know what yall think. I've got a 2nd generation BTL and I'm thinking about selling it and upgrading. Which would be louder 2 BTL's or 4 X's both scenarios would be 15's? I know the more the surface area the louder but would the power make any difference in the application. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
  16. yea i have a dmm but it my brothers setup and he lives about an hour away so the next time he comes down ill try it an see what it is
  17. ahhhh damn dude sorry for your loss...your best bet would be contact FI and let them know what happened and even possibly contact usps and tell them what happened, usually they deny it but you never know until u try. and next time when it arrives open the box and check it before you sign so they cant say you did it after they left
  18. we wired each channel individually/separately and both played but one was distorted like i said but i think it was the sub could it possibly have been just that one channel even though it still worked
  19. i know its not wired too low cuz i installed it for him and the subs are single 4 ohm coils and everything is just old he just wants to replace only what is broken so im trying to make sure what the problem is
  20. aight thanks i hope it just the subs...its all hand me downs from friend to friend so its not too valuable but i know he would love to keep the repair price down but thanks anyways
  21. aight thanks ill try that and see which it is but if it is the amp u have any clue what it could be
  22. Hi my step brother has two phoenix gold octane 10s and a phoenix gold 2 channel amp, and when he has both subs hooked up the amp goes into protect mode but when only one is wired to it it plays fine but when u hook two up again it goes back into protect mode... occasionally it will play with both wired up but only for about 1 min. then it goes back into protect mode until 1 is unwired. is it the subs or amp (oh yea one of the subs sounds like its blown but still plays just distorted)
  23. well im looking for spl but im not looking to enter any comps...so basically the loudest it could possibly be while still being a daily driver
  24. Its in a 4 cu. ft box with 2000 watts rms into it... it hits anything between 33 hz and 45 hz fine, but between 45 and 65 its not to its full potential it seems
