  1. Super bummed that I have to completely rebuild to do Tridents. My box doesnt have enough depth at the bottom. Oh well, maybe a new drivers side port wall is in order, or start walling my minivan.
  2. Dont expect the Rockford 8's to play well below 100hz and have any sort of midbass at all. The have 1mm Xmax and are recommended to be crossed higher. They are built very well and sound good but I'm just trying to help. The 10's are alot different because they can be crossed at 40-50hz and have 5mm Xmax. The 8's weigh like 8lbs each and the 10's are 22-25lbs each. Here are the specs on the Punch pro's. Scroll down to page 3 on the manual http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/support/rftech.aspx?kbsrc=http://rftech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/rftech.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1124&p_li=&p_topview=1#knowledge
  3. Build for your musical goals if its not for mainly comps, then if it happens to meter good thats great.
  4. I would look for a Tahoe with a 5.3 or 5.7, that would be the most ideal install wise.
  5. Come to finals and hear mine
  6. Stick with Chevy if you want ease of doing alts, electrical and serviceability.

I think with the subs loaded and a few smalls things done it will look ok. Not really looking for much gain but cant stand a unfinished look inside.

Wall is ready for subs. It's not perfect but it will work. I will be adding some leather beauty panels to match the doors. Also have a few ides about the amp placement but we'll see how it goes.
  9. I get 13-15 in mine. Doesn't change much regardless what I do.
  10. It's funny, before me getting into the spl side of things I just would test once when it would be installed and never look again. Now I'm checking shit all the time, lmao.
  11. Nice explanation. Mine once was readings crazy high at the terminals on the box and we closed the door and it went back to normal instantly.
  12. Build looks great, I like the truck. Wheels look good on there!
  13. Lol there is one we just forgot to take the photo lol. Thanks man. Good deal man do your thing!
  14. Box is looking good. I would add a vertical brace from the bottom of your 2x4's down. Never hurts to have alittle extra bracing and would be easy to do right now
  15. If you're wiring them together, place the sub with dual leads first point of contact. Just what I would do. In theory both subs see the same power at the same time, but, just in case lol. Audio signal is A/C. There is no first point of contact. Positive and negitive is only relative. Thats what I was thinking also, my postive is always on front sub and negative on rear.

It will be far from perfect but should be acceptable. Perfect would be alot more sanding and filling and I finally said FK this. lmao Really only did this while my subs were out to give me something to do. Never again will decide to do something like this just for the hell of it. Hopefully this will be back up and playing by Saturday night and me not having to mess with the build anymore this year.
  17. It will be hard to find a single 8 that will keep up with some hlcd's. Not that they cant completely but the horns would be turned way down to match well. Email Eric Stevens and see what he would recommend. He would know best
  18. Not disagreeing totally, but my Rockford Pro Audio 10's are crossed at 50hz - 4khz and fill the gap quite nice and are loud and have good midbass aswell. I would say they would do well paired with some horns especially crossing the horns at 1.5k or so. I will say Senchez's 12's are even more awesome. But not many people are prepared to run such a large driver up front.

This is my current nightmare, lmao. This was a couple days ago, I have finished the sanding (well atleast all I'm doing) and got it cleaned up yesterday and today I will be shooting it with primer. If there is any huge flaws I will skim and sand but for the most part I'm done. I will be painting the port a high gloss black for airflow but will paint the wall and trim all flat black or bedliner and will be doing the same style beauty panels the doors have so it all matches. I will also be cleaning up the subs tonight and prepping them for the recones. Hoping to make the show Sunday in Knoxville, but my dumbass ordered fuses late again so we'll see if they show up by Saturday.
  20. I stuck two of the Die Hard blue marine group 34's under the hood of my truck. They dont make a 65 in the marine but I wanted the extra stud mounts also so I didnt have to buy distro blocks for the front. Wish they would add the secondary stud mounts to the regular platinum batts.
  21. They will match any verified online pricing or coupon you can find. The guy was just being a dick then. All I had to do was show him a screen shot of my phone with the low price.

That would be my luck to lose. At this point I'm not worries about a few tenths as I am just looking for a top 3 placement in my class. But now the next build will have a more serious goal.

Yeah it will likely look worse than before. But fk it, I will leave it alone till the winter and tear it all out and rebuild a true wall made for the Tridents with a drivers side or center port. The plan was to smooth and sand the entire wall and paint it a high gloss black and maybe gain a db or so in the process. Well fk that. It's just too much work and I don't have the patience right now. Got a meet this weekend so my time is running out. Oh well Live and learn

Made a absolute Horrible decision to try and bondo and smooth out the transitions from port to the trim panels and other spots. Never again will I do something that stupid. After 3 days fuckin with this in ready to light a match to the truck.
