  1. All I can say at this point is I am extremely impressed by the customer service from Josh over at Mechman and this seems like it will be well taken care of.
  2. That sound great in the truck!!
  3. Yes while driving and in throttle it would jump up to 13.6-13.8 driving but as soon as I would slow down at a red light or stop and idle it would drop to 12.9 - 13.0. Sometimes driving down the interstate I could watch the volt meter bounce from 13.9- 13.0 - 13.9 - 12.9, I actually have video of it doing that and they told me that could be normal.......... Stock alt never bounces around and the 1st Mechman I got before it failed never bounced around. All of this would only happen after the alt would heat up and temps during the day would reach 90's. Also with no load and radio OFF. After sending It back they told me nothing was wrong with it and it could be my install, but they would put a smaller pulley on it and it would be stronger. I insisted something was wrong with it but would try their advice and said send it back to me. Well, 2 hours after being in the truck with smaller pulley it stops working all together. That's where I am now. I have a volt meter at amp, and also one in dash measuring from a power source that is basically or extremely close to alt power. I am referring to the front volt meter cause at amp reads .2 lower 90% of time. Here is a vid showing my install
  4. Wasn't looking for response here, just letting you all know my experience honestly, but figured someone just might see this and help since they have a section. Already emailed last Thursday, no answer so I called yesterday morning and talked to them and they are trying to decide if they can help me any further???
  5. My first car in 1992 was a 84 Accord with 2 JBL 12's on a Sansui amp with Pioneer coaxils with a small punch amp on them with a Audio Control Crossover. Sounded good for back then.
  6. Still no answer as to what they will do about this.........
  7. wont be long before that one needs a recone with that abuse I imagine
  8. swift replied to rex00's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I bet that was super peaky and fell off super quick below tuning.

Why in the world would you put one 15 in 7cu box? I would do between 3.75 - 5 cubes
  10. Rockford Fosgate pro audio 6.5's and their super tweeters. Run a 100x4 amp crossed over correctly and it will meet your goals. The mids are shallow also and will work great in stock location. That's what I am doing and mine keep up fine
  11. Nice build, things turn out nice when you take your time and dont rush. Sucks about the sub!
  12. Huge improvement!!
  13. wrong...... Well, going down interstate alt stops working all together, volume half way up enjoying my ride to a job site and look down to see 12.5 voltage. Turn radio off and back up to 12.8 she goes but battery light is on. Luckily I have 4 fully charged D3400's in my truck and was able to make it home on battery power 12.8 the whole way. XS power baby!!!!! Put stock alt back in and she is back to normal. I am extremely unhappy at this point. Maybe I can get a refund since it is less than 6 months old and only been able to use it for maybe a total of 2 months combined.
  14. Probably gonna be doing my brothers build in his Suburban. 2-4 GCON 15's will more than likely be the choice. He will be on a budget and working with 1500-3k watts rms. Gonna be doing a subs up port back 32hz tuned box. Should be fun
  15. Alt is back from Mechman with a smaller pulley, seems to be doing great so far. Hopefully the issues will be gone. Awesome customers service as always
  16. Get a sledge hammer, lol
  17. Thanks guys, I am hoping my alt will get back today or tomorrow. After adding the other runs of 2/0 my voltage at the amp seems much better. Both back batteries had their own individual 1/0 ground going to the frame. No ground running from the front batteries only two 1/0 positive runs. I added 2/0 ground runs from each battery to each other. About 40ft worth. Seems more stable and holds voltage up much better. I may add another run of 2/0 of power. I really want to get this alt back and see how it does. They are putting a smaller pulley on it to help with the low idle voltage problem I am having although they said they cant find a problem with it. :/
  18. I use a cheap pair of $20 headphones that I can't hear anything under 50hz with to remix these songs so I can't really pick up on much of that lol. Just noticed the main track itself needs to be highpassed a bit higher to get rid of some of that 50hz cause it's giving the rebassed line some wobble to it from the 2 waves interfering with eachother I use a 15$ pair of earbuds that will play down to 20hz very very well. You need something in your ear to hear the low notes clear and loudly. Sometimes I wish my truck played down as well as the earbuds
  19. That would make sense had I ever actually heard the regular song in my truck or on a system, LOL
  20. Looking forward to trying the "On my level" Gotta feeling thats gonna be slappin,
  21. For the record that clipping goes away once your amp lowpasses it...that 0.3dB is just on the vocals I do rebass some stuff but I prefer just slowing it cause I prefer how it sounds slowed, that and rebassing is a wicked PITA since I do it by hand in audacity (including completely remaking the kicks). Yep, takes me like one hour per song or more if I add treble, lol sucks
  22. Gonna try a bunch of these low hitters, thanks
