  1. Little progress here. Finished sanding down all resin on box, entire inside is smooth now. Got the carpet done, not real concerned with seems on sides because leather beauty panels will cover sides and front. I will probably use velcro for those. Sorry for shitty photos, everything will clean up much better when done. Here is finish box ready to go in Took 3 of us to get the box in place after we had to completely remove the rear door from hinges, lol 5/16 terminals on side Port clearance on pass side Amps and ANL distro Block will be mounted in front of box, \ Subs finally shipped from FI and are on the way. Gonna do the leather panels tomorrow. I will get everything wired up and mounted this weekend a so all I have to do is drop the subs in when they get here.
  2. Floor looks good. The end result looks great!
  3. Have you been able to get everything up to par yet?
  4. Good work, box looks awesome!
  5. Those are crazy cheap prices for good built enclosures! People should be all over this!
  6. You can do that. Just make sure you drill the pilot hole straight down. A slight angle after going through the first 3/4 can put you a 1/16th off very easily. I just use a big upcut bit and go down 3/4 or whatever depth I choose to flush mount. Neither way is wrong. One thing that sucks is trying to remove a heavy sub if flush mounted tightly, need a little room to grab that monster
  7. If you have a router then you will want to do it together which will be the most accurate way. Do the outside first then the hole
  8. Its all good, Just threw me off alittle reading the title and not seeing a dog and no mention of a dog. Was trying to think if there was a Audio company or club called Bully Dogs... haha Here is my boy
  9. I was looking forward to actual American Bully pics (pitbulls) lol
  10. So I have gotten bored looking at the box in garage waiting on the subs and decided to resin all corners and seams and maybe all inside just for the hell of it. Well this has created a nightmare, 90% is hard as a rock but the corners in some places will not completely harden and are still tacky after 2 days. I have read leave it alone and it will eventually harden but the is BS. I don't know whether to scrape or try to sand it down bare again or what. I tried another layer last night with a little more hardener but same thing. Tacky in some spots, I am regretting even doing it now. After over 300 bucks in just wood I don't want to screw it up. I think it's not hardening were the liquid nails sealed the corners. Any ideas?
  11. I was thinking flush router bit before I read it. That's a great way to make sure two are exact without cutting two at once. Good job
  12. I have a set of Rockford T2652-s components up front and they sound great, the tweeters were alittle harsh though. I blew one of them and Sonic sent me a complete new component set and after 2 weeks the other tweeter blew. That was after turning the gain down. Several reviews say the same about faulty tweeters in the T2 set. Instead of trying to warranty the second set I bought a set of T1 tweeters (The same that come in the T1262s set) Those sound much better that the T2 tweeters. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a set of the T1 components. For the price and the right amp/install they will sound great. I have not had a problem with the T1's at all. I have my mids in stock door location and the tweeters mounted on pillar on axis. -2db on the crossover tweeter setting
  13. You could fire the sub towards the rear and have the port fire under the dash area or vise versus. That way you can make a nice arm pad on top. I would only do one 15 and give it proper space and port area. I did the same but in the rear of my F250 same concept diff truck
  14. I have one SAZ 1500v.2 and I also have one Crunch GP3000d-Pro. I need to power 2 FI Q's and was gonna run the Crunch amp but appearance wise two matching SAZ1500's would look much better. The subs are Dual 1's so I would have to run the Sundowns at .5ohm to get a 1 ohm load but I would be easy with the gain knob and also will have the electrical to back them up. Anyone see a problem with this other than warranty issues. Curious what to do. I know both will do work but Im sorta torn. Im thinking the 2 Sundowns may sound cleaner but at .5 maybe not? My trucks interior is all black, lol
  15. Got the false floor done last night. The uncovered portion will be covered by the box so I didnt waste carpet. The front panel has 4 screws that hold it on so I can access wiring. Amps will be placed on front top side after the box is put is. Will make for easy adjustments and should look decent.
  16. ficaraudio.com simple google search would have answered the same
  17. There is not enough info about the enclosure to be able to assume this. Its within the Zcon specs. Assuming its built well it should be just fine for one 15. Its even in the area for two 12's. If he is gonna use that box I dont see why one could assume it would work. Port area plays a huge role in how it will perform and we don't have that information. This is true.

If he is gonna use that box I dont see why one could not assume it would work. Although he did give almost zero info, LOL
  19. The Zcon would like that box and they sound amazing! I vote Zcon
  20. This this being completely doubled layered and braced like a log home is really stout. I made the brace depth deep enough to put SP4's or any other deep style sub down the road if needed. I decided not to resin the inside. Too much work for a daily box and this thing is really square and air tight so I figured no need. I will first carpet it all black then maybe do some leather accenting on it to give it a flush mount look. I wanted 2 full layers to mount the sub to. Gonna order some aluminum all thread for terminals. Gonna take a few days to finish the cab of the truck and hopefully next week the subs will ship from FI.
  21. Ended up at 14.2cu tuned at 31hz. Turned out awesome, will post pics this afternoon. Now time to finish the floor of truck and amp placement
  22. Thinking about the build when I get home, Afuente for the ride Lets make some circles Clamp and predrill plenty adhesive Spread and screw back together, no board slap here Got bracing, LOL Partially assembled bracing, and 45's Im done for tonight, tomorrow I will start the resin although its not really needed. (all cuts are damn near perfect) But i figure it cant hurt. I know one thing. This mofo is huge and heavy as hell! If someone can tell me how to edit my title?

Nice answer to my question, lol.... have you ever even owned either driver in question?? You dont have to convience me of anything, you choose to join in on a thread started by someone asking a question and yet you dont not even remotely try to convince him or really even help. Im sure we are all glad the "SSA Tech Team" representative is such help to us all with your smart ass short "high and mighty" answers as ALWAYS. But I will say this and leave this thread alone. Being a successful business owner myself, nobody would be allowed to represent my company name in the way you do SSA. You honestly bring negativity to almost everything you post in, your sig is proof of your self thought holiness.

the BL 18's that I heard were in a box tuned at 28hz, as I said in my first reply, he went from Q's and thought the exact thing I have stated. My lows from my one 15 were much cleaner and had a more rich sound than his 2 18's. We tested Senchez's Zcon in my box, in my truck, that is tuned low at 29hz. The Q did everything the Z could do both being on my SAZ-1500, the Z "may have had a little more output in the 40+ range" barely audible if any. then fast forward to the box I built him that was great specs for the Zcon 4.5cu tuned at 34hz. Stuck it in my truck on my SAZ1500 and yes it was very impressive and sounded great, But again from 35hz and under you couldnt tell the difference and just showed me how good the Q really is. Im sure on 2500-3500watts the output of the Zcon would have been phenomenal. Since you have campared some many thing evenly, why dont you tell us all your Q or BL setup and how it compared to other setups in your vehicle tuned at different freq? Just curious to hear your 1st hand experience
