  1. I hate dealing with my damn pool. Deal with mine enough that I hardly get in it! She had a head? Yep, the head ain't my first line of site either!
  2. Higher tuning won't hurt you, but the linearity of tuning it slightly lower won't hurt either. 32-34Hz would be fine IMO. Didn't expect the Stanley Clark, play the bass myself, nice. My older brother turned me on to Stanley Clark a few years back!! it!!
  3. I think the article I saw for some reason referred to using a measurement from the back of the sub through the port to the winsheild. Does this sound correct or is it from the opening of the port?
  4. Looks to be doing some work there and your down one sub!!!
  5. Very nice subs!! Got 2 myself, very impressive for 8's!!! You have a beautiful daughter, she must take after her momma!!
  6. Seems I have seen a page on the internet about using the distance and math to calculate this. Anyone have a link to this for me to study it?? The space behind the 2nd row seating is not that large as compared to other SUVs and I would have to rethink what I wanted to do with that modification. Deff. something to think about!
  7. Playing with the design a little bit (wider by 1" and deeper by 1.5" and extending the port another 10") it should put me about 32Hz. That should be do-able without taking all the space in the rear for bats and such.
  8. Sorry I'm not looking for anymore borders at this time, got 2 foreign exchange students with us right now and when they leave in June I'll get a little releif on the $ spending. As far as using the credit card, have made a deal with the wife all purchases will be cash as I get the money. I do appreciate the "Koodos" though!
  9. I'm assuming you are referring to the type of music I listen too. I listen to all types of music and usually not one over another. If I choose the track instead of letting whatever is there play I would go to Eagles, Dave Matthews, or some Stanley Clark. I do listen to multiple songs suggested by my son and daughter as they ride with me quite often which could be anything from rap to country.
  10. If she wasn't airbrushed to death she might be alright. J Can you airbrush an **s like that??
  11. How low would you recomend without me having to use the whole rear area.
  12. I can increase the depth of the overall enclosure to help with the port length of lowering the tuning. Woulld staying with the larger port and lowering tuining get me to better results for what my goals are?
  13. Huh? I thought you were from not Florida? I respond having been corrected!
  14. Yeah the were to put them is on my mind. What I'm planning will require 14 fuse holders, so figuire that kind of space. I wire up my amps, and before I mount the fuse I use a test light across the fuse connections so it keeps from sparking when you put in the fuse. I think you need to go more custom with that amount of fuses. Get a chunk of copper or 2 and just make your own, should be better on space and possibly cost less. Just some bolts and wood even, can't be too hard to make what you plan on buying, right? Maybe what I'm thinking at this point is premature, I'll be thinking more on this as I get closer to the point of building.
  15. Sweet!!! I see he is a TX fan!
  16. Awesome!! His name?
  17. Only thing I'll be doing tomorrow is yard work. Yard work is fun! Not when part of it includes cleaning the pool!
  18. Those pumps in the pic are for my homies ride. I do have my pumps already though. I'm working on getting my batteries and steel for the racks to get started on the hydraulic set up. I'll post that also since there seems to be a fair amount of interest in the other chassis/hydraulic build pics I posted. Yeah!!! We want to see all the upgrades of this build!! Keep it comin'!!
  19. sefugi replied to bcst86's topic in Build Logs
Good stuff right there!!!!! None of the women in my life were ever interested in car audio.
  20. Thanks, hopefully a finished system. Turn it up!!!!
  21. What was the decision on the subs??? Tuned in for the build!
  22. Gotta have some power addons with an import!!! Not that they need them, it just goes together like "peas and carrots"! Looking good!!
  23. Good to hear!!!
  24. Looks like you got a good bit of body work to do! I am not a fan of doing body work. Keep the updates coming and glad to have you here at SSA!!
  25. Only thing I'll be doing tomorrow is yard work.
