Sefugi saved me twice today! forgot to wire the sub out of phase, and after talking to him in chat he told me a hooked up the wrong RCAs. Didn't have the sub RCAs ran to channels 3&4, which are running the sub. Makes total sense, right?! :+1: Well, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while!
  4. Those are lookin' great!!! Git-R-Done!!
  5. Those turned out great!!! Mid pod looks good as well!!
  6. Waiting for more pics!
  7. I do believe the tuning frequency of a ported box sits above the zero db line. Yeah, that guy's a dick.. Don't worry about it. If I build to these dimensions: Width: 52 Height: 22 Depth1: 18 Depth2: 18 Port Width: 5 Port Length: 8 It says the tuning frequency will e 31 Hz. Will someone with a more precise calculator run those numbers and tell me what the actual tuning frequency will be? Assuming these dimensions are external, so you need to take into account wood thickness and find internal dimensions then net volume, using 3/4" wood? For finding tuning, you need: net volume, port width, port height, and port length. You did not post a port height. On the RE calculator it would use the default height of 20.5, after subtracting the upper and lower .75 I beleive
  8. Cool new goodies!! Waiting on the pics!

Keeping busy keeps me out of trouble! My wife has never seemed to grasp that.

Hoping, but we know you don't always get large performance from large things.

    Sorry.
  12. I'm all ears, oh wait I guess that will be eyes. Love seeing a stealth type install and overcoming the challenges of not taking up un-needed space.

To me that looks great. I know the power is not there on the sub stage that your use to but it should sound really good. Did you switch the phase of the sub?? Remember that it should be working backwards as compared to being mounted regular in an enclosure.

Should pack a little more punch than the CDT 8's. I want a Dcon.. everyone seems to have one! Maybe we can give you one of ours...NOT!!
  15. Could you try to wrap the one you have in tinfoil and make a mold of it for the other side? Yeah never came to thought. I found this article, looks pretty cool and it's easy: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/how-articles-provided-our-members/53732-cheap-adjustable-easily-replaceable-tweeter-pods.html :D Yep, that's the thread I saw. I think yours would be more eye appealling if you could get them to look like you want. They would flow better with your door panel. The pods for the mids look like they are coming together nicely!

  18. Happy Birthday!!
  19. I saw that on one of the builds here somewhere, took a look but could not find it. From what I remember they looked pretty sweet. I thought that your tweeter pod is really nice. It would take some time to get them wrapped in vinyl. I know from reading some other threads it does take using some heat to get the vinyl to stretch over the pod. Check with Sir Lancelot and J-roadtatts on some tips... they both had very good results doing vinyl on their pods.

Grasshopper has been busy as **ll so we havn't gotten rockin' on the Tahoe just yet. He is still ordering some things. Got the stinger speaker wire yesterday. He originally was going with 2-CDT 8" subs but that has been modified. Bout time to show a little love to the SSA store, so we are going with 2-10" DCONs. Will get rollin' with this as soon as we both can schedule some time.
  21. That's not wasted space when it comes to going to the grocery store. Think my son and his buddies have raised my neighbor's temper a bit, not to mention the open headers on that 454 in Grasshopper's ride. I always try to respect my neighbors, but sometimes their too anal or don't have a life. We do as well, just to many projects been going on and the neighbor is a little older. Over the weekend I think my son has it all smoothed over. My son went over and offerd to help the neighbor wash his motorhome. Talked with him a while and it's all good. Well done. Give a little, take a little works quite well Yep, and I didn't even know about it till that night. He's a great kid, proud to call him my son! awww Just messin' Glad to know kids "my age" aren't just delinquents. How old is he? 17

That JBL set does look nice!! Mid is beafy, looked like cooling slots on the side of the coil as well as the pole vent. Your pods with those mids in them look really nice! Don't you like how from the factory they put the window crank so close to the speaker location?
