I'm trying to not spend too much tho lol. Like maybe 350 on sub and like 250 or less on the amp. I appreciate the help and information. I'll probably go with the 12 for the smaller size then make my own box. I'm not very good with subs, amps, and wiring. Only headunits and regular speakers. I don't even know what ohms I should wire it to for the sub

I know from a while back that hifonics makes decent amps that are overrated in rmsbut still work really well for their price. Or I could go with an alpine 1000.1 but what would you recommend for the 12 or 15? Im trying to spend too much in the build, and would one of those ebay boxes work?

I was wondering if anyone would have any insight on my possible set up plans with my enclosure and sub and amp. First off my vehicle is a 1995 3000gt. I want to go with a single sub because it will be easier and far cheaper to set up. So would a 15 fit or would only a 12 fit? I was thinking either one of those BLs with all the options on a decent 1000-1500 watt amp would probably be ideal? Also are the speaker wire kits on ebay that are 2 gauge ideal? They cost like $40-$70 on there. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.
  7. You seen the pictures of my trunk... I rounded down as well and i used a 12" height instead of say 18" just to prove a point. And I cant save up for them as I wont be buying them(graduation gift). SO should I face the sub torwards the cabin with port in rear, face up, or face away from cabin to the back of the car? Someone said to fave up and someone said to face torward the cabin is why im asking..
  8. Well I think im just going to end up with a 15 BL for price concerns and have it facing up so it will move into the cabin nicely.
  9. They are only $15 difference and that doesn't matter to me really. So I guess I won't see any difference in the subs performance?
  10. Sorry, but I dont really see the question that your trying to ask...?
  11. Alright thanks, it doesnt make my decision much easier haha
  12. Alright so I am wondering which amp would be better for my setup. The SAZ 1000 or SAE 1200 hooked up to a BL 15 wired at 1 ohm? I know the SAZ is more of a performance amp and the SAE is more commercial I guess. But which one would power the BL better and not cause me to worry about blowing my sub or frying my amp?
  13. Well I've already decided on a 15, but I'd be more than happy to show pics, but do I have to upload them to photobucket or can I just save them on my computer and upload them like that?
  14. Alright thanks for the diagram too. Lots of great help. Should I have the sub facing up or out (if there's enough room)?
  15. I'll probably go with the Sundown 1200 and the 15 BL. I think this will pound pretty good. The 15 will fit in my trunk right? The smallest parts of my trunk are 3' by 4' by 20".
  16. Alright thank you guys, very appreciate this all. I hope to soon have this setup
  17. Between the sundown and the AQ, which one is going to be better for me? And the extra 200 watts wont be too bad on the sub right?
  18. And that alpine amp is too expensive for me lol. I was thinking thinking around 400 or less. Maybe a sundown or kicker 1000.1
  19. Why do you want me to get that amp lol? As far as wiring goes, do I just need a set of KLM 1/0 Amplifier Installation Kit and will the amp/sub come with the wiring it needs or do I need to purchase that too.
  20. Alright thank you guys for the great info! What 1000 watt amp is great and at a good price? And will I notice much difference if I wire my sub with a higher gauge wire?
  21. I think my battery has a red cap... I don't know what that means or how old the battery is or even what brand. Do you think the lights would dim on my 98 grand prix if I have the big 3 with a stock alternator? And how much is 0 gauge wire going to cost with the terminals to go throughout the car if I even need 0 gauge...?
  22. I really think ill go with the 15 BL and probably a sub pushing about 1000-1200 watts. If I get all this hooked up before I do the big 3 and it doesn't dim my lights, should I still do the big 3 or get any other batteries or caps?
  23. I am also considering just a single 15 BL for price concern because I wont need such a high powered amp. What would be the differences electrical wise if I got the 15 BL instead of 15 BTL?
  24. Well they would both be at 2000 watts rms so I'd try nd get that or right around there. I assume I would use the exact same amp for either one?
