FI shipped my glue out today. They need to hire more people and raise prices on subs, IMOHO. Reminds me of the Soup Nazi off Seinfeld. I now run a 24db high pass at 16hz with a mic 2200. A 12db just was not enough for how loud I go. Tron has more bass than anything I have played, besides sines. The FI IB318 subs are very nice just wish the Fs was lower but no other sub can beat that sub for the price in IB. This will be my first recone done by myself. The first recone, done by FI, came back with a different colored dust cap. It was close so I did not care too much.

Wow thanks for all the input. I just sent a request for a refund. I wonder how long PSI takes to make an 18 IB sub.

#494 I ordered a ib3 recone and glue 3 months ago. I got my recone with no glue about 1 1/2 months ago. FI/shawn has said he has shipped it 3 times. Should I just go to the hardware store and get some epoxy? Not Happy, i paid for the glue but ................... this is b/s

10" sub vs 10" sub... well sure they will sound different but would it really be better? Both nice subs to use but I would think outside the box. Actually forget the box and be in the box. FI IB3 should be much better for sound quality if you can cut a hole in your listening area/house. 500w rms is plenty of power for 2 18" IB3's. smaller subs might not sound better and the output is going to suck unless you get a bunch of them. I own a 4 IB3 18" line array in a 2200 cubic foot room. Still blows me away with movies and secret low end in songs. ex. Dead Wrong> Biggie. Most music does not go that low to fully use the IB for just music. You could just put a 12" FI Q in a large sealed box.

I would suggest checking a local high end audio shop for used equipment. If the store sells Bose, walk out, I can almost guarantee that it is not a real seller of high end audio. If you could buy a quality Adcom, Parasound,Rotel, ect. amp and maybe even some used speakers that are of good qualty, start with that... People trade good stuff in at my local store. A 3.5mm to RCA cable will plug right into a power amp, do it at the store-some of them hum. Buying good used equipment is what I did to save some money in my home theater. I have a 7 channel setup and I never listen to anything but 2 channel with music, well the 4 IB 318's are always on.

Thanks for the update. Before I posted on this forum yesterday I checked the quantum view and it said "billing information received". Today it says that it should be delivered on the 17th. UPS tracking system must of been slow to update on this order. Also I sent a few emails asking for updates on my order to [email protected] and [email protected]. The subject lines were "info" "recone ib318" "status". I did not get replys. The emails must of been put in a spam folder or something. Im glad that my question on this forum was answered so quickly. I have had FI in my home for over a year now. I still get suprised at the LFE of four 18" IB3's in a 2500 cu foot room. Only downside is going to "public" movie theaters sucks now. I would like to thank FI for providing a great IB sub at a great price. There is no way I could of dropped $475 each on some Maelstrom 18's.

Are there any issues right now with reconing IB3's? My 18" IB3 was delivered to Fi car audio 10/19/2010.
