  1. ok so in my blazer i had a rockford t1500 and four punch p3 12's in a correctly built ported box. i just got my new sundown 3500 and hooked it up and it is no where near as loud as my old t1500 was. i have ajusted the eq settings on the amp and everything properly and i have to turn my headunit ALL the way up with all the bass options all the way up for it to even be kinda loud. i know for a fact i have missed something here cause this amp should be raping my p3's. i have extra batterys in the back, the big 3, all 0 awg wire, my subs are wired down to 1 ohm right, H/O alt....etc. should i bridge the speaker terminals, like one positive channel and one negative? i need some help here cause this is frustrating me. This is how it is currently set up. can someone plz explain to me what im doing wrong.
  2. my budget is like 750 or so. I would be in street 2. if I added another 3500 it wouldn't be for a few months as thos aren't cheap lol I thought about nightshades but if I did those id have to get one then wait a couple weeks then another one
  3. ok so ive been wanting to re-do my setup for some time now in me 2000 chevy blazer 4 door. as of now i have (had) 4 RF p3 12's and a t1500. i now have a sundown 3500 and want to move on to some higher quality subs. now heres my dilema, i wanna compete in meca shows but the rules state that my box cant be over the back of my seat. now ive been looking for 2 "small ported box" 15's that i can pound on. my buddy has 2 american bass hd 15's in a blazer xtreme doing a 147-148 and hes in my class but i dont like the hds. i need some suggestions on what kind of subs i can get to be louder than him but still haave a fairly small ported box. my max dimensions would be 37.5 x 16 x 31.5. i figure that would give me right around 7.5 cubes after displacement. what 15s would work well in that application. im kinda going for spl and sq but more for spl. i need help with this bad!!!
  4. hey welcome to the forum!!! i just seen the v 2k5 e1 in the ssa store and was wondering, how would you say it stacks up against the sundown 3500? im kinda interested because i like the fact that it puts out of wattage with low voltage. also, does the higher the voltage go make the amp do more power?
  5. The nightshade in the right box on about 3k is awesome, but these aq's are awesome for the money. I'm sure the nightshade would probably be louder on the mic, but they are $200 more a piece!!! I was going to wait on the new ns to come out but didn't want to wait another month. I am very happy with the hdc3's. If you want to get loud on some decent power I'd rer than average boxes.ecomend these just make sure you have room for them as they take bigger boxes. so the nightshade can work in a smaller box than the hdc3 can? by the way the install looks like its going pretty well. sounds loud! how did you like your saz 3000. i preordered the 3500 and am patiently waiting on it to ship out
  6. so how do you think these compare to the nightshade 15's. i know you said something about hearing them earlier in this thread. if these are just as good i might end up doing 3 of the 15's in my blazer
  7. what kind of tool is used to round those edges like that? i try to do mine on all my boxes but it takes like two hours cause i use a sander. could you post pics of the tool plz? thanks!
  8. ok so i talked to my buddy about my setup and he said i need 3 "beefy" 12's. i figure the btls fall right into that category.im just wondering though, what are some other "beefy" subs that i should be considering. i like the nightshades but they are out of my price range at 500 a sub. does anyone have any input on some other brands that i could use?
  9. has anyone heard about the fi btl back order or when they are gonna be taken off back order. i would really like to order some drivers but i cant see dropping 400 on a sub and not getting it for who knows how long. im patient but i at least need a time frame.
  10. if your talking about the 3.5 for the btl 15s, it would be after sub and port displacement. also i just noticed that the xcons were a sq type sub lol but thanks for pointing that out
  11. yeah i was pretty set on the btls. ive heard the smds were like 800+ doll hairs per sub lol thats crazy. im actually thinking about some xcons now. how do you guys think the xcons stack up against the btls? ive heard they dont hit the lows very well. by the way thanks for being so helpful. i was on some other forum, not gonna say any names, and ask this same question and all i got was" buy 1 of all three sizes and let us know". anyways i really appreciate the help
  12. i was gonna work with the fi btls. do you think if i added that extra space to the box that it would make it harder to tune or would there be any difference over have a regular square or rectangle shaped box?
  13. i would be able to give the 15s about 3.5 cubes a piece. i was thinking though, what if i extended the top half of the box over the top of the wheel wells. that would have to be an extra 1.5-2 cubes easy per side. would that change the tuning of the box or better yet, would that even make and difference?
  14. im having some trouble making a decision on what size btl i wanna get. i have a 2000 4 door chevy blazer and i wanna try to keep the box height under the back of my seat. it will be ported. i cant make up my mind between 3 of the 12's, 2 15's or 1 18. if i do the 3 12's i can give them about 2.5 cubes a piece after displacement. the 15's would be a bit of a squeeze. the 18 i think would be fine in about 7-8 cubes. i cant decide what i want. im looking for something that i can beat on daily but i still want them to be able to get LOUD cause i do compete at local meca shows. any input would help also if you have some recommendations for other subs for around the same price range plz let me know. thanks! sorry forgot to mention i will be running a saz3500d for daily and 2 of the beasts for comps
