Great choice. You won't be dissapointed. I ran the AA Chaos 15D2 (cousin to the SSD) off my AP15001D @ 1 ohm daily and it's rated at 800rms. I loved that setup. Definately well built subwoofers. I'm steppin up to a fully loaded BL off the AP15001D for my next install. 2.8^3 tuned to 35Hz, hoping for a 145 out of the trunk. Gotta post pics when it arrives. GLWB. i sure will, probably a few install pics and a final video too!

i've decided to go with the SSD fully loaded (flatwound and bp power) it'll save me money and still be a hell of a sub. thanks guys!
  3. those look really nice too but i'm only gonna buy 1 sub instead of 2 to try and save space. i dont think 1 SSD is enough output for what i'd like With proper install and the right power, i forsee 1 ssd with flatwind and bp power being louder than the 2 cvrs... Also the ssd with these options is cheaper than the q, handles more power than the q, and will still have much more quality than the kickers... I feel like thats a decent transition into the world of quality subs, q is meant not to be played as loud as it can, so i just recommend against it, although it would in no way dissapoint you, just us. Happy hunting thanks alot, thats very helpful, and i think that helped my decision alot. fully loaded ssd 12 sounds like the way to go. thanks guys
  4. well since i don't want him knowing that i am here quite yet, i want to surprise him with all my new found knowledge, i will tell you, but in private message only, if that ok(i know it sounds childish but i'm sick of being treated like i know nothing) and he just got on of the fi 12 inch btl(i think thats it name) i am sorry if it wrong anyway and he got a new amp by sa2-2000d(thats what the box says) and it was heavy You are awesome. i agree
  5. new roads, out in the sticks also. lol haha cool deal nice to see some fellow cajuns on SSA i agree
  6. new roads, out in the sticks also. lol
  7. haha thanks. will i be ok with only CLD tiles? this car is temporary and i'm not gonna put alot into sound deadening
  8. I would definitely add tiles and some sort of thin foil material with adhesive such as damplifier. I'm lucky that mine doesn't rattle since its plastic, but im still losing output lol thanks! how about peal & seal and CLD tiles? ive heard that stuff is an awesome cheap alternative to damplifier and such
  9. my roof is doing the same thing but its causing nasty rattles. will CLD tiles at least stop the noise? not trying to hijack your topic the cars roof isnt plastic whatever though, its metal. (99' corolla )

i'm putting it on a 1200d Hifonics Brutus. Will one SSD be louder and better sounding than 2 CVR's?? That's what I'm trying to upgrade from. It's ok if its not much louder but I'd like it close. I'm aiming for better SQ, and to take up less backseat space!

its for a 12. i listen to pretty much everything. i want low bass for the rap but i wanna keep accurate punch for the metal/rock/hardcore

I know the Q is better for SQ, I know the BL is better for SPL. Is the SQ difference large enough for me to decide on a Q, or is it not enough, might as well get the louder BL? I'm going for sound quality, but if it isn't noticeably different between the two, I'll get the BL because it's louder. I plan on building the box at 3cu.ft. tuned to 33hz Thanks!

  16. well see the thing is, i'm leaning out of the 'loud as possible' stage and trying to get something of better quality. i was asking if it was louder i guess just because i wanted to know lol thanks for all the replies though, i'm sure i'll be buying the Fi Q as soon as i get these cvr's sold!
  17. i plan on getting the 12" D2 Fi Q as soon as i can sell these damn cvr's. lol
  18. yeah i totally get that, i wasnt planning on it. great to know that ppl will give the heads up though!
  19. This may be a stupid question but this has kinda thrown me off. When buying a dual 1 ohm sub does that make the sub 2 ohm or just 1 ohm?? Would the dual 1 ohm be 0.5 ohms in parallel? Thanks!
  20. infinity reference speakers. Bleh! They are shit. You can do better even in that price range. Install will make or break your midbass. What have you listened to that you like? Edit: they changed these recently I guess. My opinion was on the previous reference. haha well i've been doing some searching and found alot of good reviews on the reference series. (the newest ones of course) and they are CHEAP. i only want 2 way speakers for highs and midbass. mainly to pickup my midbass for quick bass in rock songs actually i dont care, 2 way or 3 way, i just want highs and midbass
  21. yeah i figured that, i've been hesitant about getting new door speakers but i think i will soon. any recommendations on a good priced pair of speakers?? i was looking into the infinity reference speakers. those will be around my price range
  22. thats makes ALOT of sense. thanks!
  23. Of course i know the sound differences in a ported or sealed box, my question is a bit more detailed than that. I'm about to buy a Fi Q 12 and was stuck btwn building a tuned vented/ported box, or sealed. I listen to rock-metal-hardcore-etc. and rap. I know a ported will be perfect for rap but will it hit all the notes nicely for rock songs with quick bass? I've heard that a properly tuned box will hit fine but will it be as accurate as a nice sized sealed box? Thanks alot, much appreciated
  24. i dunno. he didnt specify a budget. but his budget is somewhere between 2 q's and 1 btl. i cant wait for his next thread: "which would be louder, 50 of Tweeter A vs 40 of Tweeter B?"
