  2. Goodnight HoP. Goodnight SSA. Goodnight cow jumping over SSA.
  3. If I had made up the Carebear Countdown, I'd be rolling in dough right now. A friend went to a Hallowe'en party one year as a Carebear...he got so much ass that night it was disgusting.
  4. Actually, this is better:
  5. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carebears
  6. Thanks for the Carebear Countdown, Sean.
  7. Oh, and I guess I passed 2k in the last little bit. Only ~23,000 more to catch Tom and Sean; another ~26,000 to catch vladd.
  8. What class is this? I feel like the history of science and mathematics (and those who made each respective field what it is today) is sadly lost on students of today because it isn't considered important enough by the students or the teachers. But alas.... When you get past the creepy side, eugenics really is a very, very good idea.
  9. Even if Obama or Hillary quit talking about so much financial spending, they would still be able to appease the Democratic side and draw over some Republicans. But instead they want to go way overboard and spend money on all sorts of social services. If it's something they can spend money on, they're saying they'll do it (with the exception of Iraq). But they don't need to do that to win registered Democrats or even Independents because change is wanted that badly. And yet they push on....
  10. The solution is easy, make crimes with guns have ridiculous punishment. Trying to remove the guns that are already proliferated around is IMPOSSIBLE but addressing the issues that this creates is not. As far as I am concerned, life in prison with no parole for any gun related crime. Hell capital punishment is fine with me. I am sure that the number of gun crimes would go down, way down. And as you nearly state in a post or two there is a direct correlation with decreased gun crimes and allowing people to carry. Pretty much has happened everywhere and as you state the opposite is true as well. Removing them from the market will only "protect" the innocent, what we need to do is address the criminal. [extremist]What we really need to do is thin and improve the herd...eugenics anyone?[/extremist]
  11. I am actually shocked at who the liberals are promoting, for the first time since Reagan they have a chance to not only take control for 4 years but really switch the power. Of course to do that they would have to pick someone who on the outside looked rather centrist and instead they pick a Socialist and a Communist to duke it out. Frickin' retarded. At this point a social liberal who had some economic conservative sense would be uber logical. Dumb asses. No kidding. Someone like that would roll these guys. Which is why Ron Paul would be a pretty good vote if he weren't quite so kooky.
  12. And if you don't, well....you must be fucking crazy.
  13. Yes indeed.
  14. I think I'd like it a bit better with a different flame scheme and different tails, but I wouldn't turn it down. At the very least, it's not the same old crap.
  15. But statistically speaking, I don't have to worry about that unless it is by my own hand. I don't know anyone on my street who even owns a gun. But give them all guns....well shit, I guess I better have one, too. Difference in cultures, I suppose.
  16. Just so we're on the same page.
  17. Hmmm...according to some statistics on Wikipedia, there are a few examples (Washington, D.C., Hawaii, New Jersey) that show a fairly strong correlation between an increase in gun control and an increase in gun-related crimes, although this was reported by a conservative (read: gun supporters) think tank. So I don't know what to think. Maybe we're just nicer up here?
  18. Hmmm, I just saw a report from the DoJ that says: "A fifth of the victims defending themselves with a firearm suffered an injury, compared to almost half of those who defended themselves with weapons other than a firearm or who had no weapon." So although that seems counter-intuitive to me, I guess I will have to retract my thoughts on escalation.
  19. I know it's an uphill battle because there are some big gun people here. The only thing I can do is speak from experience. I enjoy shooting guns at a range or out at the farm. It's not a bad hobby. But this notion of protection scares me. You made a mention of illegal guns being used for crime. Where do these illegal guns come from? I assume that these are guns stolen from people who own the guns legally and then sold on a black market...and if that is the source, then I don't see how allowing more people to buy and own guns makes things any safer. I know here in Canada that a large portion of seized guns used in crimes are smuggled illegally into Canada from the US. I can't remember the statistics off the top of my head, but they were staggering. Our gun laws are much tougher, thus making it harder for anyone to get their hands on a gun and the gun-related crimes per capita show it. It's a numbers game...the more guns you put out there, the more guns that are put into the wrong hands. Keep in mind that an extremely diverse group of people can go buy a gun very easily legally in the US, whether they are of a sane mind or not. And once they have the gun, what stops them from using it for whatever they want to aside from the law? You with your gun? Is that safe? Second concern...escalation. I've used this example before and maybe it's flawed...but let's suppose someone breaks into my house intending to rob me. They have a gun, intending to keep me under control. But I surprise them with a gun of my own...and they shoot me. The answer shouldn't be putting a gun in my hands...it should be working harder to keep the gun out of the other person's hands. Third concern...if you are in such a position that it is necessary to carry a concealed weapon to feel safe, I have to wonder why anyone would want to live there. Now, as far as rights and constitutions go...yeah, it's in the constitution, but gay marriage is also outlawed and I don't agree with that either. Although I'm sure there are others here who do agree with it.
  20. What do you need to carry a concealed weapon for?
  21. I have been listening to M.I.A. - Paper Planes way too much lately. Pineapple Express should be a good movie.
  22. I would put that in the excessively bad category, but I suppose I just have a different outlook than most. I haven't dated in a very long time, either. But to me, I would just ask her if she'd like a drink and start a conversation without being too aggressive (ie. coming when you finger them). Might work, though. There are a lot of women out there who enjoy that type of talk, too. I guess the only way to tell is to just go for it.
  23. MSRP is $1699. If you buy used or NIB from someone, you're probably looking at $700-$800. Dunno what you would pay over the phone, if you can reach anyone.
  24. WYWH really is the absolute greatest album I have ever listened to.
