  5. There's a tech team?
  6. I know...can't shut my fucking mouth.
  7. Some people may not like that there... Should post it on SoundGround then.
  8. I'll take the cold over the heat, thanks. Best of both worlds here in Canuckistan, although I'd rather be in the mountains.
  9. Please sort by SPLzzz.
  10. Two months...weird. Trying to decide between hamburgers or grilled cheese sandwiches. I really do love a good grilled cheese sandwich....
  11. Should post this on CCA. Good sign that you haven't had any thermal problems with it yet.
  12. Sounds like a good time. Vids or ban.
  13. My foot is asleep and damn irritating.
  14. I had one out at the family farm almost two months ago. It was great.
  15. I like reading old posts of mine so I can get an idea of how not to explain something the next time...lol.
  16. A nap is a good idea, though.
  17. I'm coming up on 2k. Wild.
  18. I am looking at pictures of whales. Guess how motivated I am.

  22. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread....97#post12971497 So they still pre-ordered and paid. You mentioned that you can't help it if someone chooses to use paypal and sends their money immediately; how is this done? I assume that after they add to cart and checkout, they are prompted to choose a method of payment. If they enter their credit card info, you would charge it later...if they choose paypal, it sends them to paypal to make a payment, right? That would still be taking their money on a pre-order...but maybe I have your procedure incorrect. I took AudioJunkies out of my signature because it's easier for me that way. So cram it. Ok, I know exactly who you're talking about and it was a Paypal payment. The way Paypal functions is the customer is at the payment page, they choose Paypal. Our site redirects them to Paypals site at which time they choose how they'd like Paypal to send us funds. After they send the funds through Paypal, they're redirected back to our site, Paypal tells our site we've been paid and the order is processed. Unfortunately for us, Paypal doesn't really have a "paid when shipped" option. This is exactly how Amazon.com now works for third party merchants. You don't get paid until they get a tracking #. Works fantastically, no one pays for an item before it's shipped. The really odd things is now that Paypal owns Verisign. With Verisign there is an authorization that you can then draw funds on. I can see why this wouldn't work to well with Paypal but you'd think it would be a system that they could implement, especially since they own a company now that does exactly that. It would be a bit different seeing as how you can link a Paypal account to numerous bank accounts/credit cards, but that's why people like Paypal, you give one company all your personal banking information and let them take money from you and send it to someone else. Paypal subscriptions? I think Vectoral (the hosting company) uses them for their site. You could create a subscription to withdraw the given amount on a specific date without a reoccurrence. With theirs, they specify a duration for the subscription that is equal to the length of your agreement with them. In your case, the agreement would be once. Maybe something to think about if it's workable for you.
  23. I imagine you're quite happy, Tom.
  24. Also, as Tom mentioned in a post in the thread he just posted, it is fair to assume BL and Mms to be constant and demonstrate the proportionality of input current (i) and acceleration (a) if we are comparing a single driver. But when comparing two different drivers (ie. those of different masses), we can see fairly clearly the effects of mass on acceleration (if we assume this model is correct enough to use).
  25. Yes, the problem with this discussion is perhaps a semantics question...what is woofer "speed"? Does it describe the initial response to a signal (the rise time) only? Or does it also describe the decay time as well? If it is the former, then we can somewhat agree that "speed" is a strong function of the inductance and a weak function of other factors including BL and Mms. If it is the latter (which I believe it is), then inductance is now a small(er) variable that describes only the effective low-pass effects of the voice coil in the time and frequency domain. And especially for subwoofers, mass, BL, enclosure, and room are significantly more important. You see how critical they are in the frequency domain...thus, as described by Fourier, they must be critical in the time domain as well. For those comparing inductance, it is best to compare as a measure of mH/ohm. To do otherwise is misleading.
