  1. The kind you can throw around a bit.
  2. No, that probably wouldn't help. I've never been to a titty bar, to be honest. I'm not really interested in going unless I was going to fuck them anyways....too much of a tease, in my opinion.
  3. You're only wondering because you're drunk. And because our dicks control us.
  4. What type of learning to work metal? If it's welding, MIG is pretty easy to pick up on quickly. TIG takes a bit more practice. Or are you talking about hammer and dolly work? But maybe you want to be really old school and lead the body instead of body filler.
  5. They are MTM's. Meaning the first "way" is the tweeter and the second "way" is a pair of mids on opposite sides of the tweeter. Still a two way as the tweeter handles one group of frequencies while the two mids share another group of frequencies. They would be three ways if each speaker handled different bandwidth.
  6. Who doesn't want a good ratrod? I know it's not just me, but I really do not like the polished and "perfect" rods...I like flat black, old school, pinstriped, with a bad ass v8.
  7. I don't get the term "real world". It implies there is something "not real" about something done with a variety of controls. Does a speaker behave differently in a vehicle or does one vehicle behave differently than another?
  8. Because XBL^2 drivers aren't flat in a vehicle and our hearing mechanisms are too complex for people to understand what they are hearing and remedy it. Where I think we agree is that for 99% of all consumers, all the theory and practice doesn't matter worth a damn. But that doesn't mean it's unimportant. Most consumers don't care how a collective vehicle works but it is still important to strive for better performance through research and development. The type of testing done on sites like DIYMA or Zaph (and eCrack?) are very good for those who understand it, although I do have concerns that misinformed conclusions are drawn and espoused on other forums too often.
  9. So did we but it consisted of static stretching and doing a couple laps....
  10. Astounding is the perfect word for what I was thinking.
  11. That's why we need to identify any discrepancies that exist, not give up on it all together and just let all things go unaccounted for. And the commitment to this that has been started by industry leaders like Drs. Toole, Geddes, Lee, etc. needs to be continued, not forgotten. THD itself is a relatively pointless metric but there are improvements made every year.
  12. Not to be too sentimental, but we have a very good eclectic group here...I think we would be hard-pressed to find a topic that one of us doesn't have the answer for, audio or otherwise. It's really quite awesome.
  13. Very nice post, Steve. Opened my eyes already. I don't want to play the blame game but it's amazing that I have played sports my whole life and took gym all throughout high school...and I've already learned more about fitness than I was taught. I can't speaker for everyone else but I think a delivery of the basics of each type of exercise and training (agility and speed are most interesting to me as someone who did track for a while) and then go over how to design a training program...and then the more advanced stuff (ie. biomechanics). Maybe I'm looking at it all wrong, though. I will be very interested to hear more. My brother and I are both athletes and he is currently a long distance runner. Depending on the ranking system, he's #3 in the country for the 3000 m in his age group but he needs to build up speed for the final kick...and his training regiment so far doesn't seem to be getting him that extra gear at the finish that he needs to have a shot at world-class performance. I soak anything up so gimme what you've got.
  14. Yeah, don't feel like doing homework tonight either. Which means I'll have to do a bunch when I wake up tomorrow but that's life.
  15. Blake, drop me an email at neil (at) audiojunkies.com with what you have and what you're wanting to do and I'll help if I can.
  16. In Flames - Come Clarity (whole album)
  17. Oh noes...Bron Bron hurt his ankle!
  18. Yeah, I bet against a friend on that game. I win.
  19. My name is Blake. The testing I will be doing on amplifiers will do the standard power tests, and since it is impossible to compare sound quality, I will compare the input signal vs the output signal. In these ways the amplifier's efficiency, maximum power output, output before clipping, and accuracy of reproduction will be represented. Subwoofers will be tested in much the same way. Sorry, looks like you had your name in the title of the thread and I missed it completely. Anyways, I guess I'll be the first to say welcome Blake! If you don't mind my asking, what measurement software and setup will you be using for subwoofer (and presumably normal speaker?) testing? I can't tell if you're quizzing me or if you want to steal my testing methodology At any rate, I'm not totally sure how you knew I'd be using a pc based solution. (of course I'd need something to create the graphical displays to represent the data) but I could have simply used analog signal generators and rta's. Well a pc solution offers significant advantages in terms of quick FR, impulse, THD, CSD, and IMD measurements. I don't know why anyone would bother with anything other than PC software nowadays. So what will you be using? Do you have an anechoic chamber? What measurement method will you be using for subwoofers? I ask out of curiosity and maybe I can contribute, too.
  20. Wow.......
  21. Are you sure it's DVC? The standard was SVC 4 ohm but it's possible you have a DVC 2 ohm.

  23. What type of "testing" will you be doing, eCrack? I would call you by your first name but you introduced your site...not yourself.
  24. I wasn't talking about any of the manufacturers...I was talking about AudioJunkies. I've invested a lot of time there without getting a penny and Lukas has worked very hard as well...and we are about to come out with something awesome for everyone. Our Alexa ranking jumped 600,000 spots to under 100,000 in less than three months simply through very hard work by us editors. My point was that I, personally, will be focusing on AudioJunkies well before eCrack and I figure many members who are a part of this forum would, too. Not that there isn't room for competition, but my priorities are already pretty well ordered.
  25. There's really not a working site yet. It was AscendantAudio.com, then their domain got stolen so they picked up AscendantAudio.net, and now they've got the .com back. When the site will be back up, who knows. I don't know that it's a first priority for them, to be honest, and it doesn't have to be.
