The last thing along those lines that I can remember is when they gave you points for SPL and the highest score you could possibly receive was given if you had 135dB or higher. SPL below 135dB naturally did not earn you the full number of points available in the SPL category.

Welcome to the IHoP
It will be really nice not having to work while going to school, but think of all the speakers I could buy with that money...... I love and hate the Fi forums here...lol.

I like 30 minute lunches...an hour is just too long for me.

Boy, would I ever.

I'm still interested. I have quite a few offers from companies to do something similar but I'm so busy right now and am about to get busier. If the opportunity comes up, though, I'll be taking it. Somedays I wonder if maybe I should jump into this industry head first without going to school, but I know I'd never be satisfied.

Apparently he is an absolutely great guy. Have you heard the story of him and the Beaconsfield miners? Not yet.... A mine in Beaconsfield, Australia collapsed a couple years ago and several of the miners were killed or trapped. When there were only two surviving miners, they sent a message asking for various supplies and included was a request for an iPod loaded with Foo Fighters music. When Dave Grohl heard that, he sent over a fax to them saying that he was on tour and unable to come see them but that they could come to any Foo Fighters show they wanted to for free and he would buy them a couple beers before or after the show as well. One of the two survivors agreed to meet and Grohl lived up to his promise...they went out for beers and afterwards, Dave wrote "Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners" which is an acoustic instrumental song as a tribute.

Welcome to the IHoP
So my last day here at work is the 28th and I have the 25th and 26th off...so 7 days left including today. And I am extremely frustrated because I am breaking my back these last few weeks to make sure the transition is seamless when I leave...I want to not care but I can't strand people like that. And I'm really nervous about finally going to school full-time in January. And I have little-to-no money for Christmas presents (although most of them are already taken care of). But I guess life without worry is life without interest.

I like Dave Grohl but the Foo Fighters are just a touch too generic for my taste. They're pretty popular up here where copycat rock (Nickelback, et al) is pretty popular. I like the Foo Fighters more than the alternatives, though.

trying to buy a sub...
Scott usually does a late night or early morning sweep of threads on the forum. Hold onto your hat and I'm sure he'll take a look in here to answer your questions.
-
Where are the answers?
Did you get your previous subs from Steve or from Fi? If you got them from Steve, I wouldn't be surprised that you got a discount (either because Steve chose to eat some money or because Scott gave Steve a hand based on the volume of sales that Steve has generated for Fi) but I gathered from Scott's post in your last thread that you'll have to pay the regular price like the rest of us ordinary Joe's.

trying to buy a sub...
I don't know if Canadians receive the email or not. Here is what is specified in the sticky's here on this forum: I'm going to go out on a limb and make the same prediction I did in the last thread like this...you'll get your subs by Friday at the latest. As far as answer emails goes, I understand your frustration. It is not uncommon at all to have to wait for emails. But try to be patient and remember a few things about the emails: 1. Nick is away right now, so they are even busier with emails than usual. 2. Shawn is a very busy guy to say the least. 3. Scott is a very busy guy to say the least. 4. Emails may not always make it through...email server outages are not that uncommon. 5. Large volume of emails and a ton of spam to sort through. 6. Wouldn't you rather they spent time making subs rather than answering emails? 7. They're human. Totally understand your frustration but let's try to stay a little patient...you're dealing with a very reputable company and Scott will make sure you're taken care of.

I assume you haven't received the shipping confirmation email?

Not only are they very busy, but mail in Canada is as slow as ever this time of year. As discussed here: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=12887 The person in that thread paid on the 16th of November and received it December 7th....3 weeks.

I hope the Vikings kill the Bears tonight, but with Adrian Peterson on the bench. Wishful thinking?

Yup. I first turned them off on caraudio.com and haven't turned back.

Anybody see a problem with this?
I know that these installs and ones similar to this have gotten popular in Europe and if you can manage the Haas effect, you've got a shot at decent imaging, but this isn't first on my list of approaches.

Prices?
Has there been some discussion of price changes? I hadn't heard any but maybe I'm behind the times. I don't think Scott has much room to go any lower on the price of any of his lines on a permanent or even semi-permanent basis. And I don't believe there are any plans for D4 BTL's, but you can use D1 ohm voice coils instead and likely achieve the load you're looking for (0.25 ohm, 1 ohm, or 4 ohm). The standard prices are quoted on the site: www.ficaraudio.com

With you on the getting presents and on most of the presents you suggested. Everyone always has to ask what I want for Christmas because I read and listen to music (and all that entails)...that's it. So naturally they have no idea what to get me. Usually just ends up as a gift certificate to a book store or electronics place...or cash. Not that I'm complaining...just quit asking!
