I don't take it that way at all and I know exactly what you are talking about. I don't mind when people link right to SSA but when they put verbatim what was said on SSA and don't direct people to the source, I find that a bit irritating.

I "get" to help PhD researchers design all sort of implantable hearing devices that allow deaf people to hear, perhaps sacrificing a few lab raised animals is okay and appropriate for that. If you would prefer we could instead pay poor third world country peoples to have their heads cut open. That is what the laser correction eye surgery people did, free testing in Mexico if you ask me that is way fucking worse. Animals that can be used to enable humans to live better, well hell I eat the damn buggers everyday so why not help people with medical deficiencies as well? Hear hear. I'm a relatively liberal guy and am all for animal rights, but I figure we've earned our position in nature....if it can help us (within reason) I couldn't care less.

Since it was USPS, you can expect to wait a bit longer. But it is worth it because you won't be paying an extra $50-$100 in duties and brokerage fees. I speak from experience as a fellow Canadian who has had a lot of stuff come across the border.

Customs is always awful and even worse this time of year. If it was sent via USPS (rather than UPS or Fedex, which I doubt) it will be an even longer wait at the border, but your customs and duties will be lower. Have to consider that today is the 12th business day. I would be willing to bet that you would have it by the end of the week but the tracking info is the only way to know for sure what's going on.
