What happens???
If they edit the post to make it more acceptable, doesn't that solve the problem?

Apparently one of the only ones to care, though....

SSA no longer selling AA?
Not at the moment, but possible in the future.

I prefer someone who is a straight shooter...you can usually believe what they say.

Initial SPL 12 SPL testing
You're talking about music though, this is burps only, a totally different animal. Bingo.

Initial SPL 12 SPL testing
The DD drivers are better in small boxes because they don't have the linear throw for high output in larger boxes. Maybe that's a plus for some...not for me.

Sean, you're about the last one that would irritate me enough to leave here.

How much? $50 shipped up there.

Ascendant Audio's New Home!
DIY is a small market....this is the best business decision for them. Don't write off an entire dealer network for the behaviour of a handful of employees. Give AA a chance before you complain about their direction.

Screws vs. Brad Nails
I prefer brad nails if the cuts are good. The best glue is of little use if the cuts aren't straight.....

Ascendant Audio's New Home!
As a wild guess, I don't think AA will be sold at dealers with a 300% markup or anything close to that. I think the dealer network is a good move for Scott and if you're dealer phobic, you can go with Fi. If it's AA you want, find a dealer and go get a good product.

Budget, Scott? I have a MobilePre that I could let go at a good price for you.

Initial SPL 12 SPL testing
But there is no pole vent on the SPL12....how can it possibly take that much power?

Guys: learning Ultimate is just a click away.....

will running a universal sub with a non-universal...
Fi offers two options with their subs: 1. Universal: the tolerances in the gap are designed so that the sub can be reconed with either the D1 or D2 coils. 2. Non-Universal: the tolerances in the gap are designed specifically for a D1 or a D2 coil. To the OP, there will be very, very small differences between the two. Not something to really worry about, in my opinion.

Welcome to the IHoP
I was waiting for this from you. People like to poo poo on it. But I have played against some of the best in the world. Heck, this past weekend got to play with a few nationals players. And from an insider, it is much harder and faster then people understand. People dislike things they don't understand. Most people I know who don't like ultimate frisbee have never played it or were miserable at it the one time they tried. A full game of ultimate frisbee is a good, fun workout. The same can be said for almost any sport. The anti-soccer concept in North America still baffles me.

Welcome to the IHoP
Most of the politicians are about as good as their speech writers, but Obama does know how to speak to a crowd that is dying to revel in his effervescence (not literally, of course...lol).

Happy Birthday Neil!
Thanks, gents. An uneventful day, to be sure.

Welcome to the IHoP
Obama has been a member of that infamous church (Trinity?) since 1988 or 89. He went to a Christian school when he first began attending. His mother was an atheist. He has never been a Muslim, though there is nothing wrong with that by any means; one of the better members here happens to be Shi'a. Do you have any sources that indicate he converted 4 years ago? Curious what your research consists of. I don't believe Obama has the best policies for the US, but the amount of misinformed and prejudiced BS that is being spread like wildfire is unbelievable.

NEW BTL MAY 1st?
Based on the description, I would say that the single-stack magnet and the 5 progressive spiders are the new options...and there might be more options as well. Scott likes to keep things hush hush until they're really ready...so you might have to wait another month to find out.

Lets talk about
What's really bizarre....to me...is that when someone is trying to turn a corner, we don't help them do that.... Calculating the 1/4 wave frequency with a distance equal to the distance between your enclosure and the mic only tells you that...the 1/4 wave frequency. It doesn't tell you where your vehicle peaks, though. The best way to approximate this concept is to measure your subwoofer in the enclosure you will be using in an anechoic chamber (although groundplane measurements are more appropriate for a subwoofer), then subtract this from the measured response with the enclosure in your vehicle. This will give you some insight to your transfer function and where peaks and dips are created by your vehicle. Of course, these peaks and dips are changed if you use a different enclosure, a different firing orientation, or different obstacles in different positions within the vehicle. Flat axial response (ie. flat measurement on an RTA) is a good start if you wish to accurately reproduce an input signal. The question is: how do you get flat axial response? Is summing a pair of drivers to achieve flat axial response but with high(er) distortion really a solution? The reality is that there is no one aspect that you can check off and say "Ok, that's perfect". It's a sum of the parts kinda thing...and something that an extremely small number of people understand well enough to correlate what their ears hear and what is actually occurring. Can a ported enclosure be flat in a vehicle? Pretty debatable and, dare I say, unlikely. Ryan cited an EBS alignment as a relatively flat ported alignment and it undoubtedly is....but not in a vehicle. The transfer function of your vehicle throws that for a real loop. Thus, I believe a sealed enclosure is often the best solution if flat response is your goal. That doesn't mean that any of the ported enclosures will be less preferable listening to music....just that they are less likely to measure flat in what I would consider to be usable bandwidth.

FL 12 - Finally Audiophile from IA
Looks like black nickel plating, which I like aesthetically. Uses ADC (right acronym? Air Driven Cooling?) which is an excellent concept. Clearly an underhung driver but probably with a fairly small coil judging by published Xmax and the height of the top plate in the picture. Any copper? Presumably single progressive spider? Maybe dual...hard to tell if it is progressive either from the picture. A little low on efficiency. Not a real concern, though, in my opinion.
