  1. You've got the idea, for sure. I have some more to add in the morning, though.
  2. Yeah, it has some potential. I've gotten a chance to upload some of my lossless and build ratio pretty easily.
  3. Looks awesome. Definitely an unconventional listening area but I have one pair of FR's in my bedroom in a very similar setup where I listen while laying in bed. Your BIB's really look great, though. The FR/WR always surprises me that you can get so much low frequency output from a little 4.5" driver...add a TQWT like the BIB and wow, no doubt.
  4. What a hangover when I first woke up this morning at 6. I shit a squirrel for 20 minutes straight, had some water, went back to sleep, and feel great now.
  5. Which blog is this? STMusic seems to have the largest collection of former OiNK users.
  6. Not bad. I liked Volume 1 a bit better, though.
  7. Off to a party tonight, too. Jack Skellington over here.
  8. None are available right now, I'm afraid.
  9. Is anyone else in there right now? I'm at work, so I am not.
  10. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7546 Lower down the page, I give an example where vent velocity is decreased by approximately 56%. These things can be calculated pretty easily.
  11. It seems crazy to sell them at those prices but if you can convince even a handful of people it's worth it with those types of margins, you've had a pretty decent year.
  12. "It needs hypno-rims." Loved it.
  13. For subwoofers, that's pretty much the case. Even for mids and tweets, looking at the cone material only accomplishes so much. As far as the end user is concerned, frequency response and CSD are big concerns (in my opinion) as well as various forms of distortion (IMD from inductance variation is a big concern in mids...again, my opinion). Cone material is a worthwhile consideration from an engineering standpoint when you're trying to match parts to a given target.
  14. Glad I'm not totally crazy. Watching Curb Your Enthusiasm tonight. Great show.
  15. For the most part, different sonic characteristics of a cone can be attributed to it's spectral decay times and frequency response (since the two are pretty heavily linked). But...very small differences in either are not particularly noticeable within a subwoofer's bandwidth. Distortion is considerably more important, but even then, a lot of the interpretation is very heavily room and enclosure dominated. When it comes to mids and tweeters, it's a bit different story.
  16. DHITB Hard.
  17. Looks pretty cool. I'm not usually a fan of much chrome, but the magnetic stack and the black basket really work well with it.
  18. Without looking at the design, I can't really guess as to how significantly a BSC would (or would not) have helped. Most end users don't even know what BSC is and it's quite possible you'll be very satisfied if you build it.
  19. What he's saying is that the second RS180 (apparently the one on the bottom) would have been better suited with a lower crossover frequency than the other RS180 (accounting for the "1/2" part) to serve as an acoustic Baffle Step Compensation approach rather than having both drivers accounting for the same bandwidth with no method of BSC, although there may be an electrical network solution in place. I'm not familiar enough with the network to say one way or the other although I'm sure he's bang-on with what he's saying if he designed it. I assume this is Martin you're speaking with?
  20. I fuggin love The Cars.
  21. Time to go grab some parts for my Wallin jig. Good day of nothingness today. I like Exclusives, too!
  22. Great day today. Called in sick and am laying on the couch watching 40 Year Old Virgin.
  23. That copper phase plug still wows me everytime. It's almost Excel-errific!
  24. I don't ride the bus enough. It makes sense economically and environmentally, plus it gives me more time to read. Always too busy to put aside the extra time it takes to ride the bus to places, though.
