  1. My fault It actually sounds pretty good to me for what it is. I took from your post that it's not a very good amp and probably wouldn't be worth it to replace. If I go ahead and replace it does anyone make an adapter to fit the stock amp harness to convert it to rca jacks? I'm trying to keep the wiring intact in case I ever put it back to stock. Thanks That's something you might want to ask on a forum for your vehicle. Someone here might know, but if not I would personally ask there if it were me.
  2. He posted this five days ago and still hasn't responded wrong section too.
  3. There is no such thing as underpowering subs. You could run a pair of icons off a 1000w amp. Depending on your goals that might not be a bad way to go considering your budget. Dbr sells refurbed sundown amps for around 250 and you could always check out the used section right here. Some people on here have had luck with AudioQue amps. IIRC the 1200 is right around 250. EDIT: I just noticed you said your "getting" the icons. I believe they are out of stock at the moment so if you don't already have them you may want to look into that.
  4. Soldering the harness was a nice touch. It seems to be coming along good. GL with the rest of the build
  5. At least you tried. At any rate the doors look good and I'm sure the customer will be happy. That's what its all about
  6. I vote sundown as well. They really make a quality product. All the advantages Ohjay listed makes it an easy decision in my mind.
  7. I'm with Notorious, if you've already got a Sundown or another linkable amp why not just link them? Cheapest solution I'd say What kind of electrical do you have to support powering two BL's? Do you have the space for the proper box?

    Looking forward to following this.
  9. Your car just got stolen.......take some time to chill before you start thinking of a rebuild. My advice is keep the NS's and if your next car cant fit two just run one and sell the other.
  10. LOL at those inserts and the screens in the doors. The craftsmanship is excellent though. Stellar work
  11. torres sketch up and the12volt are good choices. Ram has some design videos in sketch up. He doesn't give tutorials or anything but its just neat to see someone use it for design like that
  12. Its just the rules of the forum. He's a moderator. He's not being a dick at all. You agreed to the rules when you signed up.
  13. Was that your icon? That was my 18" fi bl. This was the icons: I didn't know you had so many different systems in your jeep lol. Sorry to get off topic OP
  14. LOL. I second what Stefan said or even a sundown SAX-1200 wouldn't be a bad choice.
  15. Different box and port area etc will change the sound of the BL completely. The level 4's won't necesarily "hit the lows better" in your box. Like shizzon was saying. The TS parameters will tell you how the driver will behave if you truly wanted to know "what certain subs can do". Just want to be sure you understand this before you make a decision on new subs. Install will make a much bigger difference than equipment
  16. ^^This. Are you looking for sq or spl? The Q is Fi's sound qiuality driver, but it has the ability to get loud.
  17. There's lots of threads on here about Db-r which is what I'm assuming you mean when you say you're purchasing a refurbished sundown amp. BTW if I'm not mistaken Db-r is the only authorized retailer to sell refurbished sundown amps. Here's some threads Refurb amps from Dbr and db-r Customer Service. I've personally bought one from them and was happy with the way it went.
  18. I liked the way you matched the paint to the carpet in the old systems. What kind of car was that? Tails look like a Lancer
  19. This is well said. So depending on what your goals are either will be fine in the right enclosure. From what you said my vote is the XCON. Never heard of anyone being disappointed in them

Nice equipment! Head unit looks really good. What kind of car is that in? Sorry if you already mentioned. I personally wouldn't put your HU on loud or any other type of bass boost. Just set your gain with everything flat and get it to the point where you like
  21. glad you had fun there though. Like Shizzon said any sub company can get loud so don't use that as the basis for your decision when you pick new subs I'm not taking anything away from DC or there products just having some fun on a boring Sunday. Plus I know Shizzon runs DC subs Almost bought a level 4. They have great prices, listing the peak power handling really bugs me though
  22. Like they said do the big 3 and then monitor your voltage. I've got a SAX-1200 on stock electrical and have been monitoring and have been fine so far, but that's my car and yours can and most likely will be different. Your listening habits will have a huge affect on your voltage
  23. glad you had fun there though. Like Shizzon said any sub company can get loud so don't use that as the basis for your decision when you pick new subs
