cant make up my mind
You seem pretty set on the low tuning. Personally I am weary of the low tunning recomendations but either way if that's what you want thats fine. If you really wanted a new set up like I said I vote for a btl 18. Youve got a nice electrical set up so maybe a SAZ-2500 amp would be nice to pair with a BTL. That should get loud enough for you

Help with box dimensions and port for 2 12s
i have an 06 nissan altima What gen is that? I have a third gen. Stock alt is 100 amps. At full tilt the 1200 can pull 140 amps I am told. You wont see power like that most likely but either way your going to want to do the big 3 and most likely upgrade your starter battery.

cant make up my mind
they do look awesome mine took 6850rms from my stetsom amp to one coil(due to miswire) and it was beating off that one coil for like a week straight..... then I placed it with its sister in a box for 2 18's that is 20 cubes after displacement and did a 156.7db at 27hz.... and let me tell you was not in question at all! yea I saw that in your build lol. I wish I could get an HO alt and power something like that they are awesome subs. SSA ftw

Help with box dimensions and port for 2 12s
Oh and btw don't put to buy too much into the "underrated" thing. I haven't seen anyone measure so I could be wrong, but at any rate I'm fairly positive its not going to be putting out a whole lot more than 1200. The important thing is that it puts out 1200 watts. Don't expect it to be pushing 1300 or something like that. I'm not hating on sundown by any means. I have an SAX-1200 and love it. They're a great company. Im just saying dont expect a 1200w amp to put out 1400 watts

Help with box dimensions and port for 2 12s
I bought from db-r and so far the amp is great. I dont know if you noticed or not but that SAE was b-stock. I think that means it will have some cosmetic defects but perform fine. I dont know what kind of car you have but if your mounting it somewhere it wont be seen thats not a big deal. I bought a refurb that wasnt b stock and you cant tell the difference between that and brand new fyi. You should be fine with the 1200 though. You didnt mention what your electrical consists of. You would definately need some upgrades for the 1500 and less so for the 1200 but that will still draw a lot of power so it all depends on your vehicle

cant make up my mind
Before you spend all this money it might not be a bad idea to build a new box. What are you tuned to? You mentioned wanting to be tuned "low" but said you listen to mostly rap. Higher tuning will get you more output. Depending on what your currently at tuning your current set up to 35hz or so could give you a decent amount of output. You should look into tuning and really know what you want before you make a decision. If you really just want a new system I would recommend an 18 or two 15s. If it were me personally I would want a btl 18. You mentioned upgrading your amp too. I assume you know that you would most likely need an HO alt or at least a second battery for this.

HELP 2 12" fi q cut sheet please!
I would think you would need 4-5 cubic ft. There's plenty of designs out there. Don't use nails in your box. Your glue question has been asked not too long ago. Use the search button and you should find it. CA and Roe have box designs for two 12's. You just have to search. Not sure what amp you have but if your running 2 q's you want d1

ANYONE INTERESTED IN A JUNE 2011 GROUP BUY?
Sweet! I might be looking for an amp for my front stage by then

Can I and should I port this box for more output?
You want to port the sealed box?? Just build a new one. That's not enough air space. Get your workable dimensions and go from there.

Project 1998 Acura 3.5RL
Yeah man no problem. I just can't stress enough to not buy a DDM kit. I am not hating on anyone for having them but.....if you want quality and to not blind other people just retro. Plus that cut off is damn sexy. I'm sure you know this already, but Craigslist usually has some really good painters for a lot cheaper than shops Usually you can find a dude who lost his job or something and is doing it on the side. A friend found a dude on CL to do his bike. Sometimes changing the transmission fluid can make shifting smoother. Might look into that too. Your car is definitely turning out sick. Its gonna be a nice ride

Project 1998 Acura 3.5RL
haha it really is that way. Either way it is definitely not a very common car. I just like the way they just look like a proper luxury car. I'm subscribed to this one for sure Very true indeed, these and the Lexus with the same body style our always great to see especially in good condition. From the pictures you posted your car is in damn good shape. Idk what kind of headlights RL's have (Halogen I'm guessing?) but that car would look really good with HID's. A projector retro and bi-xenon's are the way to go imo if you ever wanted to think about it. Definitely not a PNP kit hahaha. Its a lot of work, but would definitely be cool if you ever were bored and wanted some sick headlights.

First set up sub suggestions
Figure I'll update this thread to let you guys know what I ended up going with. I ordered a 15" BL from Fi a little while ago. Should be in some time this week. Getting started on my box this week hopefully. Planning on going with 4.0 ft^3 tuned to 35Hz. Thanks for all your help guys I'm looking forward to the first set up. A new XS starter battery and I'll do the big 3 before I get the sub hooked up.

Thats a good reason to do your own installs lol

2009 BMW 128i Fi Q 10 Power question
^ That. You won't need an HO alternator. I would think you would be fine with just the big 3 and an upgraded starter battery, but obviously you should monitor your voltage and if it gets too low add another battery. Its a couple hundred dollars for a good battery from XS. Prices are right here in the SSA store

Need help looking for head unit with gps
I think Kenwood HU's have Garmin based navigation. I would assume if your looking into the navigation aspect they would be a good choice.
