The starting point is pretty easy and better than the passive set you are getting. Hmmm... might do that off of a kicker 800.4 then. is 460 a good price for the z6's though? i might buy a few just to resell. what would my options as far as drivers/tweets/horns be then? can you guys get me started with that? i'm a total n00b.

I dont have the time or knowledge right now to tune something. But its a possibility, i have over a month to decide i think.

Not a whole lot, got an older Tahoe and looking at what to do for the sound system. You should come check out the audio shop in hays with me sometime. They do some bad ass installs. They also have arc, but at rapeme prices. I'm thinking about getting a few sets of Z's, think i locked in a good price, but want to make sure. Thinking 9887 will be playing source duty. Imo if you are at all competent it is silly to use components when you can go diy with that h/u Well i'm getting the Z6's for a decent price (i think), i can always choose to run them active down the line. The main reason for my going this route is the fact that i want a good starting point to judge my likes and dislikes off of. In addition, at the moment i dont have a whole lot of time to be tuning a setup. I figure the headunit will provide me with plenty of headroom in the future, and the comps will sound good ran passively... i can always switch things up in the future. I'm pretty sure i'll at least be able to get what paid for out of these. 460 for the bnib set. I could be very wrong though. Wow, for $460 you could have some really, really serious DIY drivers. That is a ton of cash to be throwing into a passive set. I figure i can get out of them what i paid. And i want to start with passives.

Yeah, we should probably get on that. I've got a lot on my plate so someone else should lead on it but I'd be happy to contribute music. I'd be more than happy to contribute as well.

I had some decent space to use too... 1.5 share ratio. My ratio was fine (never below 1.3) but my buffer was quite large...I could have downloaded another 230GB without uploading anything before I would have been banned. I had about 180 gigs to download before i was back at 1

Yeah, it was quite the surprise. The fab work they do its top notch. And an active setup would be nice, i'll probably go passive to start out with and then figure out where i want to go from there. I could always use help with the 'hoe though... i'm not so experienced. We should do something with sams car too. I dont talk to him near enough now that i shut my cell off and his computer broke. I'm actually fixing one of my laptops to lend him for a while. I should probably do the soldering tomorrow if i'm not too lazy...

Vehicle Upgrade Opinions
You really have plenty of options in that price range. I just scored a 99 'hoe that i absolutely love. You could probably find that gen for 6-8k loaded. You could look at a 4 runner (i will probably be selling my hoe for a 99-01 limited in a while, might be a bit out of your budget, but you could always go with a slightly earlier SR5 model) Pathfinder/Q35 (iirc) Out of the options mentioned i would shy away from the blazer. They're not bad vehicles, but the interior quality is rubbish.
