  1. I have a pair of Cerwin-Vega RE-30s in great condition. Today, I had the idea of playing the "In the Air Tonight" bass test version on them for the hell of it. Throughout the song, I heard this somewhat loud vibrate/hissing (hard to describe) coming from each cabinet. I figured it was just air coming from the port, but after further inspection, it seems that it is actually air escaping from around the fuse "box." I have never heard this before, probably because I have never played anything very bass heavy with soft-ish mids and highs. I thought that cabinets and boxes are suppose to be pretty air tight, or at least not let this much air out. My question is, why is this happening? Is it just a flaw in the cabinet? Nothing appears to be wrong with anything on the back; the fuse, binding posts, or the back plate that holds both of those things on. Is there a way to fix this? If you need any more info, just let me know.
  2. Awesome! I like me some Canon as well. I'm only 19 and a student, so I don't have the money for much, but I have a Rebel XT w/ grip, 28-105 3.5-4.5, 50 1.8, and the 70-200 4L (I would have loved to get the 2.8 IS, but I don't have nearly that much dough). I also have a Vivitar flash, but I think it is a piece of crap most of the time, tripod, mono pod, etc. Photography is a serious hobby of mine, but will only be that. Props to you for going all the way to shooting weddings. Much stress in that business.
  3. Very sick black Vette! If you don't mind me asking, what is some of your equipment that you shoot with? I am somewhat of an amateur myself.
  4. So I was at the local Goodwill, heading straight for the "Electronic section." I always check for speakers, hoping one day I will make an awesome discovery. Well, this day, I spotted a set of interesting speakers. The first thing that I noticed was that they were heavy as crap! They were Grafyx Model 6 speakers I do believe. They looked exactly like these: http://www.oaktreevintage.com/web_photos/Stereo_Speakers/Grafyx_Model_VI_Stereo_Speakers_web.jpg I had never heard of Grafyx before, so I decided to just let them stay and not buy them (I have an old phone, so I couldn't search the interwebs for info). They where in great shape and only $30 for the pair. Did I make the right decision of not buying them, or did I screw up?
  5. I have a Sony DH-500. Good 5.1 surround sound receiver for the price (less than $200. Not exactly sure since I bought mine a couple years ago). Rated at 100 Watts. Also can play your iPod with audio inputs if you use a RCA/mini plug patch cord. Hope this helped some or gave you some direction with your search.
  6. I have no pictures of my stuff now, but my current setup consist of: Pair of Cerwin-Vega RE-30 (Fronts) Pair of AR-215PS (Surrounds) Sony DH-500 (All I have at the moment) I also have a lot more sets of speakers that I just can't use because of only using one receiver. My other speakers include: 2 more AR-215PS Pair of Onkyo Fusion AV S-35 (Trying to sell to help fund a new receiver) Pair of 12" Tannoy Monitor Gold's (My babies!) I am a student and very short on money, but my next buy will be a good tube receiver.
