So even the $350 170 oem will be a lot better choice than the $320 pro 210, Im not really in need of the 210 anyway, I mean im sure the 170 can power a aq2200 or sundown 2500?.. Those are the biggest I ever plan to run within 3 years ( this cars life )

Sorry been working all day, But yeah I completely understand that idle is MOST important, especially in city when Im bumping at all 5,000 stoplights here in kc.. Lol. I Just like the cheap price tag as im a poor college student! if I could get the money I would def want the 130 idle but I cant afford it at this stage in my life ( college payments are #1 right now, car audio is a close 2nd though!!) BTW.. These alts that are listed on the site like the ones we are talking about, are these like ones that are in stock always (or most always??) Like are these some that would ship out fast or are they still custom order? I know some cars/alts you have to build custom per request each time and could take months for build, but I just wondered if the ones posted on the site like these for the civic you guys have more readily available? Sure you can Rofl, I put strobes in mine Just to say I have strobes in my car, they are on the inside. 1 in each corner of my car pointing in and it has different patterns, when they are on it looks like a freakin party in my car + underglow on dash & the 18 ssd! Ill have to make some vids of all my random crap for you guys. Hopefully Ill get more pics up tomorrow, they are all on my other computer, then I can continue my log.

Cool lights under car = broken as of a year ago.. NOOB friend installed them crappy, wires went slice and oops bye bye to lights.. I'm planning on gettin new underglow after Alt purchase within next 2 months ( but if I get alt.. Im scared I might get 18 xcon or 18 btl and a new amp aq 2200 or sundown 2500 ) I randomly took these the other night when i was bored though, I have interior lights under dash. They have 7 diff. colors to choose from / or strobing.. ( my underglow was 7 as well but is busted, interior works good as new though) Pics are terrible quality as my camera sucks outside in the dark.. Ill try to get better ones sometime.

Well Monday I got my Kinetik HC1400r in the mail and then installed it Tuesday afternoon before college! This thing is a beast for sure compared to Walmarts batt I was runnin up front

I was really looking to only spend close to $300, so the $320 looked best for my price range, I just didn't know if there was a big difference. I am only currently running a Sundown 1200d. Biggest I would probably ever run in this car EVER would maybe be AQ2200/Sundown 2500 tops.. Would the Pro Series 210/100 be sufficient for those if I did upgrade?.. I already have 2 kinetik batts.

Nice way to start a system! Wish I had heard of fi, sundown, xs.. anything good when I was of your age and not when i was 19 and had to waste money on all the crap systems first Cant wait for the build log!

So I was looking on the DC Site for the available alts for a 1997 honda civic 1.6L and I saw there were 3 options: 1. HP Series for $399 - does 180 max & 130 idle 2. Pro Series for $320 - does 210 max & 100 idle 3. OEM Series for $349 - does 170 max & 110 idle I was wondering the differences between these different series lines.. and also why the pro costs less but has the highest max output?.. Is the hp way better? if so why?.. just wondering because the $400 tag on them.. I guess I just dont know the difference between the different lines of alts really. -Jordan

What is usual bulid time or whatever this would be called from like dc purchase to getting the alt, just in case I chose to go with them. I wont have the money for a few weeks.. So if I cant order for a few weeks and then it takes months to build.. Summer will be over when I get it ( I want to show off come on I have people to make look bad. I hate people who say, whats sundown, that must be a crappy off brand.. Then I want to turn it up and make them jizz their pants )

So your sayin for ex: If I buy an alt through them, and I say buy a new car in a year in a half if mine craps out, they can recase the one I previously purchased to fit in the next car I get? And yeah I figured some people might say dc power since they are here on this forum, I just didnt know if they were pricey and I have heard of so many different companys I just want to get the best the fits reliable/not overly priced. Ive heard of like dc power, mechman, excessive amperage, alterstart, power bastards but I dont know which are and are not reliable. Dc power seems to have reliable alts from what ppl say on here.

So I got my kinetik hc1400 and installed it today, and then tonight my dad was like did you get a new alt too?.. I was like what omg?!? you told me not to invest in one in this car.. And he was like well I didn't know you were going to buy more batts, he's like you seem to need a lot of power so you might as well just get an alt.. I was like omg yay, SO.. Now I figure since he said I should get one, that gives me a good excuse to finally buy 1 I have dreamed of getting one for 2 years. So Im going to save up for one now but need help first, Alright.. Down to the point, I have no idea how many amps I need the alt to do for my system and I need a good alt because I don't want a piece of crap that just burns up so please advise me on what company to go with and power needed possibly. My system consists of only a sundown 1200d. I do plan on eventually adding a speaker amp only for 2 rear speakers, maybe 100-150rms.. in the future. (stock alt is 70 amp ) I dont want to spend tons if I dont have to as im in college But all suggestions are appreciated. Let me know which ones you have had good experiences with and that are reliable! Thanks -Jordan

Ultimately an alt is better. I am running a Sundown Sax 1200d and I have a second battery and I cant run long at all before dippin low if I turn it up. ( This is also due to me only having a 70amp alt stock ) But IMO an Alt is FAR better than batts as it is what actually makes the power, the batts just store the power. If you can save for the alt then deff. get it, I wish I could!! -- but you may also want a good agm battery upfront to keep it stable on big surges

Alright... Just making sure as it is a big investment on that size battery and I just didnt know if a tiny 70amp alt could charge a 1400 + 2400 and still reg. car things at the same time without killing it.

I guess noone has ever ran multiple batteries on a stock alt?.... Lol..
