  1. If I got 1-2 hc 2000 or 2400 or anything, can I ground them to the driver seat bracket or what? Because I would place them on the floor behind the driver seat. I might take pics late tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance to show inside and where they would go to help
  2. Nope, I don't even have rear speakers ATM I havent for like a year. No other amps. I have the 170a alt from dc power. Like 110@ idle I believe? Maybe 120 and 170 max
  3. Still though is 170a alt and my 2 little batts going to be enough for 2-2.5k I dont know anyone locally with that much that I have seen in person to know how many batts or size or batts needed to maintain good voltage while running a huge amp like that.
  4. I have done the big 3 in 4awg, I would upgrade to 0awg when I upgrade to 2k+ amp. I usually charge them at least once a month or 2 months. But when my music isn't on it usually stays about 14.6v on my meter Oh and just one run of 4awg from front to rear batt, which i was told was plenty for 1200w which I would upgrade if I get new amp to 0awg
  5. Also, my whole trunk is full with my 18" subs box and there is just a tiny space above the left tire well where I can shove my hc600.... So if I added a mini battery bank or just 1-2 big batterys near the amp, I was planning on setting them on the floor behind drivers seat( my amp is actually sitting in the rear seat that is behind the driver seat, so the batts would be right next to the amp, just on the floor..... But I wasn't sure of a good place to ground my batteries if a set them on the floor behind drivers seat??? Anyone else have to put batteries in rear seating area before like ppl with trucks or small cars like my civic hatch? I just don't know what to do for a ground for 1-2 big batteries or med sized
  6. Hmm yeah that is true since I put the hc600 right next to a 1200 watt sucking amp that might just make it drop for a second or 2 just because it holds so little juice and jumps back up when my alt quickly refills it. I just know that I dont want to run into any problems if I put in a 2-2.5k watt amp.
  7. I have a DC power H.O. alt and big 3 done with a kinetik hc1400 up front and a hc600 right next to amp with 4 awg connecting to my SAX-1200d and yeah my voltage is fine MOST of the time but it seems like on CERTAIN random songs with a perfect note my voltage still gets awfully close to 12v occasionally.. HOW many batts you guys running and on how many watts rms you pushin? Since Im thinking about upgrading to an Xcon 18 > over my current 18 ssd, I will most likely be upgrading my amp to a 2000rms amp or something close to 2k like AQ/AP/Hifonics and Im wondering if adding a battery or 3 will help make a difference because Im NOT upgrading alts again.... 1200rms seems whimpy when most of you push 2k-3k daily.. So i just wanted advice on if adding a mini battery bank really does help keep my voltage up? My voltage never gets TOO low, and its only like every 10-15 seconds that it hits a random note and drops to like 12.5 ( but im afraid it will stay closer to the 12s a lot more often with a 2k watt amp) and then jumps back to like 13.6-14 for most of the regular bass. Usually run like 14.4-14.7v with stereo off. Again I have a kinetik hc1400 up front and a hc600 next to amp, I know the hc600 is a baby but its better than nothing. So will adding like a hc2000 or 2 hc2000's to the back help a lot? ( OR ANY name brand I dont care, XS/Kinetik either or.. No not optima lol)
  8. W6 was made to sound very clean and clear while still putting out a great deal of power for it's class. Not designed as a spl sub in any means.
  9. I kind of have a feeling he wont listen to our suggestion of a 12"... once you get in your head that you want to compete with you friend and beat his 10 with a "better" 10, i have a feeling he will end up getting a 10.. A 12" would be a much wiser decision in the long run as you will eventually regret buying a sub just to beat a friend with a 10. my 2 cents, get a 12" xcon used and make him pee his pants.
  10. Honestly get the 10" Icon well.. lol i guess not yet for the icon but.. look for a used Fi Q 10 maybe a fi SSD 10 in the f/s SA-10 good choice as well. I say go for an Icon or used Fi Q/SSD if not then pick up an SA-10 good price and fast plus you wont be disappointed with any sundown products.
  11. Yeah thats why I was thinking 2-15s if sealed because the width of my hatch is like just enough to fit the 2-15s and then the wood edge of the box.. no port possible lol,.
  12. you ever see any Audiopipe's for sale anywhere? I'd love to grab a 3000d in place of my sundown. Btw.. Can the sundown SAX-1200d run at 0.5ohm?.. If so I could just get a Dual 1ohm 18 and throw it on the current amp? or 4 10's wired to 0.5? I just didnt know if my amp could run 0.5 stable or not..?
  13. Btw.. as people read this, If anyone is looking for an 18" Fi ssd OR a Sundown SAX-1200d amp You might msg me because I will def. be selling the sub to upgrade and most likely selling the amp to get a used AQ, Ap or hifonics.. as much as i dont want to, They put out rated for a fraction of sundowns price.. Im in college and have to save the pennies I can. I love sundown with every piece of my heart though. -- Ill try to upload pics and list these in the for sale section within this weekend - thanks Jordan
  14. I know there is enough area to "put 2 15s" or "4 12s" but.. im not sure about fitting them plus a port? I know technically there is enough area inside the box to meet requirements but im not sure if there is enough face room like on top/side/ or where ever i mount them plus the port. The box I have right now is exactly fit to my trunk the the biggest measurements possible. READ:::: The box I currently have i fit perfect WE Slanted the REAR of the box to fit the EXACT Slant of my rear seats,,, ALSO we built the box down into the SPARE TIRE COMPARTMENT for and extra around 1' cubed.. There is like a mini box in the tire area attached to the bottom of the Big portion of the box to add area inside plus the slanted back portion.. My next box I want to make a simple rectangular box that does not have a alien-like attachment going into the spare tire and make it flat backed, not slanted to rear seats. These are reasons I MAY not possibly be able to fit as much as stated. And to Chevy, I only recall turning down the 21" because.. lord knows I dont wanna mess with a 21 in a civic haha. And 2nd I just didnt want 4-10" dcons because of their output range. I am very open to amplifier and subwoofer suggestions because I am only familiar with JL audio/Fi audio and Some what sundown.. So i love ideas and people experience
  15. Current Power/electrical----I currently have an upgraded Dc power alt, ive done the big 3 and I have a kinetik hc1400 in the front which a kinetik hc600 in the back right next to my amp. I am looking at audioque 2200 or audiopipe 3000d i believe is what it was.. both can probably be found used for close to what ill get out of my sundown 1200d Recent Pic I had on my phone just for a little idea.. not a good shot but so you can see..
  16. 1st my 18" ssd box is PORTED ALL MY SPECS are in my Signature. Its 7.3ft cubed and the box is ported. 2nd im sure I could fit 4 10's sealed but Im not sure if i can afford 4 icons?.. or.. Q's since they are a few hundred each and hardly ever used. 3 dcons is not enough upgrade to make it worth it to me 3rd, LOl a 21" wont fit believe me.. 4th! OK now that Freshh added that cone area thingy.. Im thinking 4-10s, 2-15s or 1-18" If I do 4 10's I would do sealed... If I do 2-15 I would have to do sealed.. And the plus with doing 1-18" would be I dont have to build a new box which in turn would save $50ish to $75? So are there any 15's that would sound good sealed that dont cost tooooooo much? Im basically going for used on my next setup because I cant afford 4 new 10s or 2 new 15s. If anyone is selling used icons or similar 10's.. Some great pair of 15s or an Xcon/Zcon/Btl 18 those would be great.
  17. 1st Dcons.. 300rms.. Im pushing 800 through my 18" ssd so 10" dcons would keep up but not much of an upgrade.. 2nd Icons yes 2-3 would be sexy I would love to have my car falling apart, in my head that means my bass is yummy. 3rd I know they only go up for sale IF someone is upgrading to Xcons basically lol.. So.. someone needs to sell me their Icons and get xcons tyvm! 4th.. I might have to sell my Sundown sax-1200d as I want a lot more power obv with more subs.. I want to try and sell my sundown and almost have enough for the higher powered amp with just that money.. So i would have to cut my quality barely.. in this - Are audioque/audiopipe amps any good? because Im pretty sure I could sell my sundown and almost have enough for a *Used* audioque 2200 or large audiopipe.. I hear they put out their rated power at 1ohm so?.. any opinions on that? Ps... I have ALWAYS wanted to have some SSA subs so I can represent in my area. If I get some the first thing I wanna do I purchase a Team SSA sticker for the Hatch
  18. Geez well someone needs to put 2-3 used ones for sale on here.. I hardly ever see Icons come up used though :l
  19. 4 dcons.. not enough for me. 3 icons i wish :L how are icons sealed? 2 ported or 3 sealed
  20. :L alright, so 3 sa-10s sealed probably wouldnt be that great since they are most likely a lot better ported. Well that sucks. I kinda thought 3 10's would be awesome in my civic hatch haha. I just dont think I can really fit a 3-10's sealed box.. at least not unless I spend tons of time designing a box but I really just want a good simple box this time around like a sealed easy to make one lol.
  21. So,. does anyone know if SA-10s sound any good sealed? pros/cons?
  22. I have my 18" fi ssd running off a Sundown sax-1200d... I really want to upgrade or try something new, but I don't really want to spend tons.. If i don't get another 18 that can fit the box I already have, then I will probably just build a sealed box next. Some ideas i had but need input on are, an 18" xcon if I could find one used or a 18" btl used.. these could fit in my box already and use same tuning. OR I thought about like 3 SA-10's sealed? because someone on here has 4 sa-10s for sale.. But I dont know if sa-10s sound good/loud sealed, and are 3 sa-10s going to be much of an upgrade to an 18" ssd?.. I wish I could get like 3- 10" icons but noone has them used ever.. Any other good subs sealed that sound good?.. or anyone got used subs I can buy that fit any of this.. i have a civic hatch so space is limited, I think 3-10s would be tight looking but idk if they are loud and good sealed? I have always wanted an SSA sub so I could finally wear an SSA sticker on my hatch I have never heard a SSA or Sundown sub in person but would LOVE TO!! I bet ssa's sound so sexy. but Sundown subs would be cool too THANKS!
  23. So doubling power, and retaining 18" size should increase 3db. At the level i am now, 3db should be noticeable to the ear still correct? since im not even close to a "major" system
  24. So if i get an 18" BTL, then it will be much louder? or is it still very little difference? Its just hard for me to understand how an 18btl can be muchhh louder than a 12btl with the same rms/peak rating while my 18 ssd with a low rating can be greater than a 12btl.. But then if reconed to 18btl or just purchasing an 18btl would be a big upgrade.. lol
