A buddy of mine wants me to build him a subwoofer box for two 12's in his Ford Ranger Edge. Now he is taking out all of his rear seats which gives me a good chunk of space to work with. I know how to build and design an enclosure, all i really need to know is subwoofer/port orientation. Havent made an enclosure for a truck like this and I dont have the time to build multiple enclosures and test them all out so I was hoping this could save me some time. -Mike

Square inches of port per cube is a silly and pretty useless rule of thumb. Port area should be based off of the subwoofers your using, and overall, Port Mach is really what you should be worried about. Well if you like hitting lows, running them in a ported enclosure will deffinatly be a better idea then running a sealed setup. What are your max dimensions?

Extremely dependant on the enclosure design and if it is properly built. Considering its a trunk car, two 15's may even be too much. two 12's may be your best bet.

I would deffinatly think that the cone area would more than make up for the loss of power that would happen.

Check the basics, make sure all power and ground connections are solid and also make sure your subwoofer is wired up in the proper way.

Going to be building the enclosure inside my trunk in order to get as much cuft as possible. Im looking at 19" height, 45" wide and about 22" deep. Should be great!
