Fi BL 15" 4.4 cubic too big???
Tuned that low with that much power, it will be fine. . .

2 hifonics brutus 1606d on 1 15" fi btl
You get that much vibration on a hifonics amp, parts are going to fall out of it. . .I know from experience. You guys crack me up. . .I ran (8) MD3D's on (2) RE MT 18's. Not a big deal. . .Get the gains close with a DMM, set the low pass filter (AKA "herts knob" ) and SSF just using the markings on the amp, and you are good to go.

re mt18 specs?
If not daily, who needs t/s parameters?? Test and tune is the only way to get max SPL. . .

2 hifonics brutus 1606d on 1 15" fi btl
WRONG!!!! there is nothing true about that statement. The voice coils creat a magnetic field that add together. Does not matter if they are not exactly the same. Even a sub with coils in parallel on a single amp can have variations between the coils, wire to the coils, connections, etc. that can make the voltage drop slightly different on each coil. Some people leave one coil of a DVC open, shorted, or use a resistor across it to vary the Q. I have seen passive crossover designs in home speakers that use a lower LP frequency on one coil than the other to give the driver more output on the low end, while still having output that blends with the midrange. As already stated, running a single amp at 1 ohm will be almost the same power as 2 amps at 2 ohms, BUT the efficiency should be higher at 2 ohms. It should also be less stress on the amps running them at 2 ohms, which is a good thing, since everyone seems to hate Hifonics If you already have the amps, give it a try. . .you might like it. Brian

re mt18 specs?
Even if you had the specs, you more than likely would not like how they model up. Run them in 6.5-7.5 ft^3 tuned to 35 hz for daily. Each one on a 40.1 will be awesome.

I cut two fingertips off today
Man, did you type this post with one hand? Not bad. . . Sorry to hear about the fingers. I stuck two of mine in my drag truck's aluminum fan blade. Looked about like yours, but went down the sides just past the first joint. Painful and feels funny to touch anything with them for a long time after the cuts heal!

Another Box Build for bigbirney420

I just bought a bunch of hushmat.

New Saz-3500d & BTL
Thanks! I am going to guess that it will be over 160 very soon. I had the factory cloth seats in when I did the 159.7. I am in the process of putting plastic racing seats in it. Just sent the alt back to mechman to have the external regulator installed. Will be nice to bump the voltage up a little. Also almost done with the doors now. . . Next up is getting the flex out of the roof. And of course, can't wait to get SMD subs in there Brian

New Saz-3500d & BTL
My plan (as of this moment) is to use (8) 22" IB3's in my IB setup in the new HT.

New Saz-3500d & BTL
I understand you are trying to learn, and I was not saying there was anything wrong with it - I answered the question. You just are talking about a setup that has the potential of easily breaking from user error. Normally, when that happens to noobs, they come back here unhappy with the equipment manufacturer, when it is their own fault. Brian

New Saz-3500d & BTL
edit - 12.6 net volume for a PAIR is great. (1) 3500D per sub is no problem if it is setup properly (gain, subsonic filter). Turn bass boost off. If you have to ask about that, I am concerned about you running a single BTL and 3500 watts

Upgrade to 15
My AA Avalance 15 would be awesome for $250 shipped

mayhem 18
If you know what you are doing. . .but I don't think they are going to take it daily for long periods of time. I run mine on 40.1's @ 0.5 ohms with absolutely no problems, but from what I read on the 3000D, you will be well beyond what I am giving each one. Do you have the 3000D's yet? If not, you can preorder the new 3500D. I would think (1) 3500D per sub is enough for music. For a daily setup, also consider (4) 15's on (4) 3500D's. I had better luck with music on (4) 15's vs. (2) 18's in the same airspace.

Arsenal 10"s failing??
- Arsenal 10"s failing??
They fail if you abuse them. . .- Screwed up on my port
Just cut out the inside opening so it is as big as the rest of the port. If that inside opening is smaller than the port dimensions, you are restricting the port.- Lanzar 2000 for 2 15" BL
The Opti2000D, Opti4000D, and Opti6000D are all nice amps. . .- Which Fi to get?
What are the box dimensions? I would look at changing that tuning which will add net volume. You could run an 18 or a pair of 15's in that airspace.- US amps
It is an ok amp. BTL can handle more power, but if you are on a budget, it will work.- box for Havoc 15"
Nice. . .do you build a lot of boxes?- Alternator trouble
If it is a newer vehicle, the alt may be regulated by the ECU. The voltage is regulated based on the need. I have a friend that always turns his marker light on while playing his system so the ECU will ramp the voltage up on the alt. My 2008 Silverado does that same thing, and it is all factory. . .drives me crazy. Brian- box for Havoc 15"
I assume you want to build a ported box to replace the sealed one? Can you post up the maximum dimensions the box can be? Brian- Anyone care to design a box?
NOt everyone drives an S-10. Post up some maximum dimensions. . . - Arsenal 10"s failing??
