  1. They will take it if you know what you are doing. . . They are rated 2000. No warranty for burned coils. . .
  2. Ha! Jim and I answered at the same time and got the same answers. Must be right
  3. 1.What should my "ohms" be if im using a mono amplifier. Depends onthe amp. More than likely a dual 2 ohm sub for a 1 ohm load. 2.If my box is tuned to 3.25feet at 30HZ is that too little feet, and too low HZ? That size/tuning will work great. I personally would tune it at 32-35 Hz for a little extra output. It will still have plenty of low end. 3. Does anyone know a good mono amp to go with 1 fi BTL 15inch There are too many to list. What is your budget? 4. Also is a BTL legit 2000RMS? Yes it is.
  4. how much power are you running on them? you ever smell the glue getting warm?
  5. This box is 2.2 @ 33 with a 1.5" baffle (you can add the 45 piece in the port corner like shown in the second box below): I forgot until I was uploading it to photobucket that I just di this box. It is 2.25 @ 32, but a .75" baffle: Brian
  6. For daily bumping they do. I have run both. BTL's in the same box hit lower and handle power for long periods of time much better. . . Brian
  7. x2. I ran mine really hard, and the leads looked new when I sold them. . . Brian

  9. My new subs will be dual 1 ohm - 1 sub per 40.1 @ 0.5 ohms. Going by my past 3 sub setups in the wall, I am guessing around 0.8-0.9 ohms with impedance rise playing music. Can't wait to see how that works out
  10. Yes I am. . . Love those amps. New subs will be Dual 1's instead of Dual 2's. Should get me just below 1 ohm with rise Yes you are. . . Dolby Digital 5.1. Got to have something for surround sound! And truthfully, man those are some LOUD plates. Running 75 watts RMS on each one.
  11. Just thought I would start a thread. . . So the wall looks like this again: But will very soon have AA subs :D :D :D :D I need bass. . . The 10" panasonic sub in my Isuzu truck just is not enough!!!
  12. I can't wait to build another house so I can get my (4) Avalanche 15's in low tuned ported enclosures. . . sealed and EQ'd is nice, but ported will be killer.
  13. AV15 is nice. Mt friend is still running it in his home theater. This IXL-18 is sick. we were playing XBox again last night. . . gun shots and explosions are crazy!!! Brian
  14. I will have more pictures soon. . . .This thing is crazy. Using the 1000 watt Dayton sub amp that is actually mounted in a chassis: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-810 Skip got his while they were on sale for $250 with free shipping. Man that was a bargin - this is one sweet amp. This sub rattles everything in his entire house. Apparently everything in his neighbor's house too, since his neighbor called the cops last night. . . . Officer knocked on the door, Skip answers: Officer - "Whose truck is that out on the street?" Skip - "That belongs to Ben, he is right inside here" Officer - "I need to speak to him please" Ben - "Yes sir?" Officer - "You think it is funny sitting in a residential neighborhood playing loud music?" Note - Ben has a couple of stickers on his truck leading the officer to believe he has a loud stereo, but he does not. Ben - "No sir - There is not a loud stereo in my truck" Officer - (does not look happy) "Are you sure about that?" Skip - "The stereo has all been removed from that truck. Maybe what someone heard was this" (points at sub). Office - "OMG, where did you get that thing???" After a quick explaination, the officer said he needed to keep it down and left shaking his head and laughing. . . The main speakers - Carver AL-III 6' tall ribbons driven by a 375 x 2 RMS old scool Carver amp. 42" plasma TV Call of Duty 4 on XBox360 is just nuts.
  15. For daily driver, I would take (2) 15's over a single 18, if you can afford it. I went from (2) 18's to (4) 15's in the same box/wall with the same amps. Metered the same, but the peak dropped from 42-43 Hz to 36-38 Hz. Man what a difference that makes listening to music. . . .My friends that heard the 18's could not believe just listening to music the (4) 15's metered the same as the 18 setup. Brian
  16. Look right to me. . .
  17. If you are just looking for a sealed box, just figure out what dimensions fit best in your car for 2.79 ft^3, and call a couple of local custom cabinet makers. I bet one will build you a sealed MDF box for $60-70. Carpet is cheap and easy to apply with 3M spray adhesive. Or paint it black with bedliner spray from walmart. . .
  18. edit - Sorry, loaded the wrong picture to photbucket. It is correct now. 37.25 x 14 x 14, slot port is 2.75" x 12.5" x 34" long 2.25 ft^3 tuned to 32 Hz. 34 in^2 port area
  19. My bad again. . . With double front baffle, "(1) 13.75x16.5 for one of the port sides" should be "(1) 14.5x16.5 for one of the port sides" since the box is now 18.75" deep. Brian
  20. Man that looks awesome. I need a van
  21. I think you are in luck. . .I am pretty sure Scott told me the dual 2 ohm gap is the universal gap. The dual 1 ohm gap is the smaller gap that a dual 2 ohm will not fit in if you do not get the universal option. Brian
  22. you have to predrill the holes for the screws. I use an 18 ga air nailer, build up three sides, then go back to predrill and screw. Then I add a piece at a time using the air nailer to hold it in place so I can predrill and screw. I will draw something up in the morning and post it. Brian
  23. The overall dimensions I posted above are the outer dimensions. . . If you are going to build as drawn with a double baffle (not sure why I said 19.25" deep above - should be 18.75), you would have: (2) 18.75x16.5 for the sides (1) 32.5x16.5 for the back (2) 28.25x16.5 for the baffle (1) 13.75x16.5 for one of the port sides (1) 11x16.5 for the other port side (1) 18.75x34 for the top and bottom
  24. How much port area right now? Is the goal better daily sound, or higher metered SPL? What do you not like about what you have right now?
