Iron block 2.3 Turbo that can take a ton of boost. If there is a rust free body, a donor 5 speed and a new electrical harness, it would be a fun mess around car. There is a guy local with a few and he tracks one that is just brutally fast. It might be forced into a classics class as it thumps some of the other more modern 4 cylinder 2 doors in the CDC. Iron head too. Too bad they're so damn heavy though. I love the Lima for it's never quit durability, but I still favor the Duratec, especially the 2.5 V6 which has a lot of "influence" from Cosworth.

If retaining your factory alt and adding an alt, you need a self-exciting regulator on the new alt. You will not have any issues. As has been stated, just run the truck and all it's electrical off the stock alt and battery, and your bank off the other alt.
