  1. Went better than expected. They have some in stock at a store more than 50 miles from me, told them I wasn't driving that far & they needed to have one sent to my local store. Guy said he could contact the auto center to see if they could arrange that. Didn't figure they would be willing to do that, and still might not as he hasn't talked to the auto centers yet....but I'm tired of having to jump my fucking car in 10* weather, so atleast it's a step in the right direction. They can and will ship from another store and should honor the price. Being a former employee, I've seen them do this countless times. I've also seen them screw people as well and charge them for shipping from the other store. Be very careful and check your receipt. If there is even a penny difference, get the manager in there ASAP and then threaten to call corporate. The guy never called me as promised, had both my work & cell #. Suggestions? My dad is looking into Napa specialty AGM batteries as I could get those at cost, but if they aren't as good I need the Diehard from Sears and need it soon, like in a day or 2, if this weather keeps up. I can't drive my car anywhere as there's a 90% chance it won't start. The Napas are good. Should have a good warranty too, so if you can get it at cost and actually get it versus hassling with Sears, I'd go that route.
  2. Drove one with my mom a week ago. Holy shit boring. $39k in the format we looked at as well and for cars in the $35k-43k range it was the last one on the list. There's nothing better than a boring car for a daily driver. Couldn't disagree more. Even if I did agree the Venza makes no sense in that regard. Uber expensive for what it is and boring. It's in my price range, so I don't find it expensive; it also has everything I want/need from a daily. I like boring daily drivers. They are simple and for someone who fixes shit all day long, the last thing I want to do is come home and have to fix shit. I will have a toy so there is no need for anything fancy for a DD

Forgot we did not drive one because the wife did not like it. The only cars she drove were the Lexus IS 250,350, and ES 350 aside from the Camry SE. Yeah, I've driven the ES330, and the LS460 I think it was. I don't like the insurance premium though. I don't see the point either when they're basically a Toyota with thicker steel and extra sound deadening. I do like the mid to late 90s LS models though. I'm not paying $10K for a car with over 100K miles though.

  5. Neal, when you were shopping last, did you happen to drive a Venza? If so, what were your feelings?

  7. If you're directing this at me, I am no fan or Mopar nor Chrysler products in general. I thought you liked older mopar, but maybe I was thinking acidburn. Sorry, not me. I like some of their newer designs, but in general, I feel their vehicles are junk.

  9. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Good point. Sounds like a waste of time trying to bypass it anyway. The starter has nothing to do with it. It's the way the ignition is wired. The switched lead opens during the cranking cycle. Weird. My HU is right to the batt and still cuts out on start up......... If the voltage drops a lot when cracking no head unit is going to stay on, no matter how it's wired. We already covered this MR. I'm late to the party.
  10. It's dumping snow now. Yay.. . . .
  11. Monday it was 45, yesterday, we had a high of 59. Today it was around 50 and rained all day. I got home around 6, it was still in the high 40s. In a matter of minutes, it was windy as fuck, the rain changed to snow, and it's snowing, thundering, and lightning. I hate living here.
  12. You'd be a jackass not to.
  13. I love Sasha!

  15. I did swing lessons once a month for 4 months and never got to the flip or spin part. Your teacher moves quickly.
  16. Good luck!
  17. Jared, The only thing I have been able to do is to use the mobile browser. It sucks, but it's the only way I can view the forum. None of my browsers will work. I can view anything, but as soon as I log in, it all goes stupid. Switching to mobile skin has solved it, though it's a shitty way to view.
  18. Better then pr0n You're 18 right? Shit, I'd put ass and titties before anything audio related since birth. I would give up sex for the rest of my life for a 458 though.
  19. That's some bullshit!
  20. Are you going to get a special mask too? How about your date?
  21. Yeah, we're getting dumped on here too. I've been procrastinating with the snow blower since it's supposed to be in the 50s next week, but I may have to bust it out today.
  22. The V8 in the 3rd gen car was half Ford, half Yamaha. They still do a lot of heads for Toyota, but I'm pretty sure that's because they both own a large percentage of stock in each other.
  23. With fresh noodles it becomes way better. Also try a dried sausage of some sort instead of the pepperoni. Pepperoni is this blasphemous retardation of something that is naturally awesome. I'm having a hard time processing the concept that pepperoni is NOT awesome. Maybe some time in the future when I grow as a person I can accept these words you typed, but for now I'm just not strong enough... (not that I'm not willing to try fresh noodles and dried sausage instead of pepperoni, because I am) There is a reason we are about the only country in the world that eats pepperoni. It isn't because the pork and the spices that are in it are bad either. Just our chemical lazy way of manufacturing and not being able to deal with a real slow cure. That being said I have seen boutique pepperoni that is made correctly and fuck yeah, it's awesome. All the greazy nasties go away when produced right, the flavors develop further and all around there are no negatives. One hint to a good one. You'll have to cut it yourself and the outside of it won't look savory. I fry it lightly in a pan to extract the grease and blot with half a dozen paper towels, glad to read there is much better available, but curing takes time and time is money so I wouldn't be surprised to learn the US uses chemicals to do it cheap and fast- the main problem with chicken. My food budget is pretty limited these days, but I'll have to keep a look out for "real" pepperoni. I am sure that even your big box grocery has something like this: http://www.igourmet...._Sel&cprod=6038 While not "pepperoni" you'll find it is a yummy alternative. Superb on pizza btw. Thank you for this! I've had authentic Italian sausage, salumi, and pepperoni and they do not compare to ANYTHING commercially available. I normally just eat food, but with these, it was an experience.
  24. Actually, the Volvo V8 is a Yamaha engine. That is like calling the V6 SHO a Yamaha engine. Ford/Yamaha partnership that Ford yanked when the chinese bought Volvo from them. It is a Yamaha engine. They're designed and built by Yamaha, so they're Yamaha engines. The Volvo is the same. I could see if Ford had a hand in the design and/or build, but they did not, so I can not call it a Ford.
