  1. From the man who says chicken is horrible.
  2. My bad. Too many alarm installs. I keep picturing wires for ignition 1,2, and 3.
  3. If you have indeed run the power wire straight to the battery, the units were suffering from undervoltage at startup or a switched ground that opened on crank.
  4. But not all ignition wires remain closed in the crank position.
  5. All electronics have an operating range. Fall below or above that voltage and it won't work.

  7. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... X2 I'm pretty sure it cuts off at start to protect some sort of Under or Over voltage problems. Maybe if you had another battery source or possibly wire it to a cap? . Nope. Real simple guys. Take a test light and hook it up to your HU's power wire. Turn the ignition on, it will light up. Crank the car, it will open that circuit.
  8. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Bypass the fuse box and wire directly to the battery? Not sure if that's a good idea though... It will still most likely happen. Starter uses a bunch of volts and HUs protect themselves. Good point. Sounds like a waste of time trying to bypass it anyway. The starter has nothing to do with it. It's the way the ignition is wired. The switched lead opens during the cranking cycle. Weird. My HU is right to the batt and still cuts out on start up......... Your entire truck is an electrical gremlin. The HU should not shut off unless you're around 10 volts. If you're dropping that low at startup, you need a new battery, or something us wrong with your starter.

  11. Clock works except when the key is at OFF. It still has power, only the lighting is not powered when off. It also switches off at crank, but the time delay is not visible.
  12. Clock will have continous. The issue is you need to find a switched ignition wire that stays hot while cranking. Get out a test light and poke the ignition wires while cranking. If it stays lit, there is your source.
  13. It sounds like the door is cocking. Is it dual or single spring? Could be the controller too.
  14. That's odd because I joined right after this place started. I think it was 02? I know we had a big data loss or revamp or something. Maybe that's when everything restarted?
  15. Dammit, I need to stop looking at Mustangs!

  17. I don't believe I have bad luck. I just look at it as all the BS I seem to incur is just prepping me for the joy that lies ahead.

  19. Am I the only one having issues with the forum? It's like it works for 3 minutes, then 10 it doesn't. comes back for a minute, but click any link and it doesn't work again. WTF?

  21. I actually watched that moto x event Saturday. Was pretty good.
  22. Looks like I have to dust off the hardhat for the Super Bowl.
  23. The spout connector on the ignition module on the distro will affect timing. Have you checked this module? Often they go bad if clogged. I'd check the vacuum line on that module, then do a reset. Drive for 10 minutes, if not cured, I'd be suspect of the ignition module.
  24. Great tool!
  25. Does anyone know if there is a way to download a transcript of or your actual text messages?
