  1. Why is it everywhere I work, I am the only one who actually works?
  2. Fuck that! The reward better be high.
  3. A little bit of smoke is no big deal. If he was truly concerned he would have done a compression test and he would have given you the results. I would really look into those two forums as you will learn a lot. You can possibly prevent getting screwed by a dishonest mechanic.
  4. Broken ground somewhere.
  5. Sounds like you lost a ground.
  6. Nah cookies aren't healthy. The study I read stated otherwise.
  7. If that is indeed the vehicle, it has an electronic throttle body. Scour the web for rebuilders. This is getting very common nowadays. The aftermarket may have caught on by now also. Search Toyota Nation or Camryforums.com. There are many Toyota certified techs there who can help. It could be something as simple as a stripped gear that you may be able to repair yourself.
  8. Well, I guess you don't want your e-cookie.
  9. I'm going to guess a 2005 Toyota Camry LE. I don't like to guess, but if you are correct, I will give you an e-cookie. As far as your mechanic being concerned about your engine, did he tell you why? I am curious as to how he can deem it is "wearing out" two or three times the "normal" rate.
  10. Damn, you beat me to it.
  11. I have GOT to see this process!
  12. Off a cliff.
  13. Just because it doesn't rub doesn't mean it's not too low. I'm assuming you did this purely for aesthetic reasons?
  14. So you want to make another baffle, mount the driver to that, then glue it to your enclosure that is already in the car?
  15. Why did you downgrade? Because they were cheap. Cheap sells, no matter what.
  16. Fuck work. Feel like shit today.
  17. Sorry, but all those woofers with all that power all sound the same. There is no discernable "SQ" or difference in sound at that level. If you think there is, your brain is playing tricks on you.
  18. It's all in the rating. There is no standard for rating amplifiers, although CEA has come close, but it's still flawed. Technically, they can make that power, but at a frequency the amp will never produce at a load it will never see, yeah, you get the idea.
  19. PA also owns Soundstream and they still make some good stuff.
  20. JBL has long been at the forefront of driver/enclosure design. IMO, they are THE manufacturer to go with in terms of commercial availability. They also make soem very good amps. When you get into pro audio, they are huge also.
  21. YOu won't be able to test, unless you have an outboard rectifier.
