Clipping won't damage the amp. The smell could be adhesive, dust, a burning coil, etc. Each one is distinguishable. You'll know them when you smell them. Now don't go cranking the gain up. Ideally you DO want to match it to the preout voltage, but just because you don't does not mean it will harm anything. Play wisely and use your ears. The drivers will tell you when they have had too much.

That's what we like to prevent around here. The bullshitters. I'd like to see the owners in this post, especially given the negative light already shed on them from hearsay.

I'm not saying these are cookie cutter or cheap. I am simply stating how easy it is to "build" and sell amplifiers. This particular board is a generic board with a few tweaks for the company. Also, Jon has posted what he has been told by a company affiliate who obviously is misinformed or really has no idea what he is talking about. Why on earth would they direct a potential customer to a guy who is clueless? In fact, why would they re-direct him and not handle the questions themselves. The online community is small and everyone knows everyone. If they don't, they can find out. I can easily pick up the phone, call one person and tell you every detail about this amplifier, where it was designed, built, etc. . We are a tight knit community here and like to protect each other. We don't want anyone skarred from a bad deal or getting screwed, so everyone looks out for everyone. Every one is skeptical at first. If they prove themselves, all the better with a good manufacturer in the community. If they pose no value, they are not needed. IMO, they've already shed a negative light on Jon, so that affects me negatively. It only takes one bad apple. . .

TBH...Cheaper for the same shit = new customers. I mean, for a basic, quality product how can you turn that down? It's not 100% the same shit. Most people don't turn it down. That is the only reason some newer companies can survive. That is the only way a person who knows absolutely nothing about how their products work can sell them. Some people like to buy stuff from companies who have knowledge of their products, who design them themselves. They don't necessarily have to build them, but they know how they work, they know how to repair them, and they can diagnose a problem. That is the person I want to buy from, not the guy who is just selling something to make a buck and has no clue.

They are not engineered. Engineering involves designing something from scratch. This is a generic board and layout picked out from the buildhouse. The only "engineering done has been a schematic for components."

Clipping will only kill the driver if the driver can not thermally or mechanically handle it.

The spam is not an issue if reported right away. Some members feel the need to have fun with it, and it lingers, but we are on it pretty much right away all the time.

It's pretty bad when you start your business based on lies. It can only get worse, although one guy seems to be doing well even those his reputation has been skarred since day one. If it's cheap, people will buy it no matter what.

That's funny since those are not US caps. The only company in the US who makes most of the components that would be in this amp is National Semiconductor and I guarantee you none of their parts are in this amp. They called a buildhouse, picked out a generic board and sink and had the BH engineers install components to meet their spec, and voila. Any of us can do it. You call up a company, tell them you want a 5K amp with .001% distortion at 4ohms that is stable to X ohms, draws X amount of current, etc. They build some protos, ship them to you, you test, agree or disagree, wait til they get everything right, pay them, and bam you have amps. You don't have to know a damn thing about amps, electronics or anything. All you need is money. It's pretty simple and has been done for quite some time, and some people have become quite popular doing this.

haha. yeah the mufflers that are on there are running backwards. meaning the inlit and outlit are backwards. im saving to have full exhaust put on headers back ($500 :-/) then it will sound REALLY mean haha Unless they're chambered mufflers, it won't affect the sound much and will do nothing performance wise. Do you know anything about the engine at all? Just an FYI, go to fordstrokers.com and you can get something better than the FRPP crate engine for the same price with quite a bit more power. You could easily get a 408 with some nice heads and have 500 on tap for around $5K. This is assuming you can assemble components. A longblock is going to run you more. are u talking about throwing a big block under there? lol i dont want to do no cutting on the car. thats why i dont want to go that route. plus i dont need more than 400horses . it has around 285horses now and its plenty for that car lol. but of course, just about every time i take the car out for a nice drive, there is ALWAYS a rice burner trying to race at the stoplight. i love beating them with a 47year old car it puts a big on my face haha. No, the 408 is based on the 351. Displacement is increased through bore and stroke. Trust me, once you get more power, you will continue to want more. IT's worse than a drug. the 351 clevland or 351 windsor??? i can fit the windsor, but not a clevland. i think 400 horses for $3800 isnt to bad. comes with a nice warrenty and ford puts it on a dyno for 50hrs before its shipped to you so all the rings are already seated and what not. it also comes with headers,carb,intake.... the whole 9 yards haha I don't know how I missed this, but you can fit either the Cleveland or the Windsor. They're pretty much the same size, share the same trans pattern, etc. The only issue you would have would be with a modular or big block. They came with big blocks as well, but if you went with the hemi head or 427 you'd have to do some shock tower work.
