  1. I had a ton of fun 2 years ago with the A4, but I am NEVER purchasing a VAG again!
  2. You're going about this the wrong way. Pick a driver and build the enclosure that it will need to perform the way you want it to perform. The largest problem is, you aren't going to get any low end response with that small of a driver in that tiny enclosure. It's just not happening.
  3. I'm going to daily this AND winter drive too, so I'm picking up some Blizzaks when I go get new truck tires next week.
  4. Oh yeah, One piece aluminum driveshaft and a set of factory rear wheels with some sticky MT streets, and a gay ass shift light on the dash. LOL!
  5. I'm still finding stuff and going through all the paperwork, but here is a short list: BBK longtubes BBK O/R X-pipe Flowmaster catback Boss 302 Intake JLT "cold air" BBK throttle body C&L mass air meter Throttle sensitivity adjuster Eibach Pro suspension kit. This includes springs/dampers/ and bushings at all four corners plus larger front and rear sway bars. BMR upper control arm mount, upper control arm, and lower control arms. BMR panhard bar JLT catch can 4:10 ring/pinion SCT livewire tuning by Brenspeed Several other things I've not yet found. Luckily, all this has been professionally installed and tuned by a well-known Mustang speed shop which is actually only a one hour drive.
  6. I thought of that, but a good wrap is a couple grand. Another grand and I can paint it. I don't plan on keeping this thing, so I will live with what it is. It's a rare color, so hopefully that will increase the value.
  7. They should be able to flash a new calibration without issue. It should literally take 15 minutes. Hopefully, they will only charge you a diagnostic fee.
  8. And then I remember how little I paid.
  9. Thanks, but it's bugging the hell out of me actually. I don't like yellow. It's saving grace is it looks like molten gold when the sunlight hits the pearl.
  10. It's an SCT? I'll see if I can find the manual for mine. I SWEAR this was in the manuals. They are trying to prevent exactly what happened to you. I hope your dealer is helpful. Some of them are just assholes when it comes to the aftermarket.
  11. Is your truck a dead duck right now?
  12. I've had 3 handheld tuners before. Each one of them has stated in the directions that before you do anything, make sure you are connected to a battery charger to prevent battery drain. It's literally like the first thing in the manual.
  13. All the parts were installed by a professional Mustang shop, I have all receipts from everything that's ever been done to it right down to detailing, and it recently had the clutch replaced and 4 new tires. Also has a set of Mickey Thompson ET drag radials on matching wheels.
  14. SO, this guy had this car posted for sale several months ago for $15.2K. It has over $10K in mods. Just ridiculous. ! owner car. I see this car every day as the guy lives and works close. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a really nice Tacoma. I came home Wednesday for lunch and just so happened to check Craigslist and this car was the first thing that popped up. What hooked me was the price. $!0K! I thought it was BS, so I emailed the guy to call me. He did so 10 minutes later and 3 hours later I was checking it out. I told him I'd go the bank in the AM, and he said if I bought it by Friday he'd give it to me for $9K! I went to the bank to get a small loan to cover what I didn't have in cash and the loan officer valued the car at $16.5. I figure the mods add another $2K, so I have effectively doubled my money. I went to pick it up this morning and he gives me all the stock parts and other parts he purchased but never installed or just changed because he wanted to. So, now I have the car, AND another 2Gs, in parts! I hate yellow, in a bad way, but this is a no-brainer from an investment standpoint.
  15. I only purchased it because it was too cheap not to. I already have equity in it.
  16. I'll have pics in the AM. Couldn't get it picked up tonight. Barely made it to the bank before closing.
  17. Hell has officially frozen over. I purchased a yellow car today.
  18. Two years ago I bought an A4. What better unit to install in a fine German auto than a Blaupunkt. I got online and found a sweet double din Portland with Nav. The unit arrives dead. I get the replacement and the volume control is non-functional via remote or knob. Get another unit in and it works, but after several months starts to develop an issue with the volume. I think this is an issue for them and honestly, what once used to be a quality brand, is now utter shit IMO. I'd throw it in the trash.
  19. I wish they were all this way. Pure gain block with a big sink and some damn fins!
  20. Great point. I neglected possible cancellation issues.
  21. I'd do as Aaron suggested too. Don't be afraid to "underpower" the Evil mids. They get LOUD off little power. I speak from experience.
  22. Sounds like a great plan to me. I'd run with it and see what happens. Keep us informed. I might be able to offer an alternative sub, but I've not yet been able to test mine, so I can't yet comment.
  23. Don't bother with the midrange driver. The SSA mids have an OUTSTANDING midrange response! They are the IDEAL in-car driver for a 2 way. I've only heard a better mid on one driver and it's a Revelator; a driver that costs over three times that of the Evil mids and needs a LOT of work to adapt nicely in the automotive environment. Seriously. Run the Evil mids and tweets without the midrange. you will save yourself a ton of time, effort, materials, and ear fatigue.
  24. It effectively takes a 3dB increase in power to hear a difference. This is a doubling of power. Unfortunately, you won't really gain much. I gather from your post you are looking for more output. Honestly, as great as that driver is, it's not much a beast in the way of sheer output. It's a sealed driver only, so you're only other option is a larger enclosure at the sacrifice of power handling and cone control, so that just screws everything else.
