  1. That's odd as I spoke with two Primo dealers and was informed that they are the only one 100% designed, built, and assembled in the USA. Here's a chart I found as well. http://www.bbqguys.com/content_name_Compare-Kamado-Brands_content_1312_headeronly_true.html
  2. 20% isn't a given, it is just an estimation. Like I have stated, I wouldn't do it, hell, I wouldn't get within 1-200lbs of GVWR, but proceed at your own risk.
  3. Why not buy a vehicle strictly for competing? You should be able to find a decent compact on craigslist for around $500.
  4. Personally, I wouldn't do it, but I've been around cars all my life and turning wrenches for about 22 so that's just me. I would look for a better platform. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that's what I would do. Your car was never designed to handle this extra weight and short of welding every seam, building a proper cage, and upgrading the drivetrain and suspension as well, which would leave you with a new car, it's just not a good idea. I would equate it to using a Ford Ranger or other small pickup as a dedicated tow vehicle for RV trailers. It could probably handle it for a short time, but would soon fail.
  5. The GVWR is the total weight of your vehicle and all it can carry, so if you have a GVWR of 4800 lbs and your car weighs 4000lbs, you can only carry 800lbs of people and gear safely. What you need to understand is your vehicle is a unitized structure, or unibody. The weight of the car is distributed throughout every weld. Sure the suspension pickup and pivot points will have the most demand on them, but you can just upgrade your suspension like you would on a truck or body-on-frame vehicle to handle more weight. Chances are if you are going to be over the GVWR, you will probably be able to exceed it by about 20%, but remember the weight is also putting more strain on the drivetrain and braking systerm.
  6. Good bags will last at least 10 years. You can't really ask for more than that given what they are. Firestone makes the best stuff. It would be best to list what you have access to. Are these actual manufacturers we are talking about or companies who sell kits and parts at wholesale?
  7. I've never come across this issue.
  8. No such thing.
  9. It's even been chewed on.
  10. GENTLEMEN, WHILE I PERSONALLY HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH IT, YOU CAN NOT POST NUDITY IN THE IHOP. IT IS VIEWABLE BY ALL PUBLIC AND IS A VIOLATION OF THE TOS.
  11. Don't know how much I believe that and it won't change anything anyways.
  12. Wouldn't the clear coat give it even more gloss ? Trying to keep it flat. Shucks guys, I hope the customer will like it, today is delivery day. Sorry, I missed that point. They do make satin clear coats now, but I don't know what you have access to over there.
  13. Adrian, do yourself a favor and use several layers of clear coat, then wet sand and buff it. It'll look like glass in comparison to just shooting the black and color sanding. It'll also be more durable.
  14. Adrian, you suck!
  15. Why does everything have to go back to this one thread? Did the OP mention anything about that thread? No, but people keep having to input their own mind. Drop it now. I can make numerous threads and post how everyone is wrong, no matter the math, your ear, or your credentials.
  16. This, and thanks to our lawyer driven society, children are raised as pussies who think they are entitled to shit. This goes back even to my generation.
  17. Happy BErfday!
  18. Happy Berfday big guy!
  19. I can't mix alcohol and soda. If it's good booze, it needs to be straight up.
  20. There is a reason I pay no attention to the news.
  21. With all the April showers, we better have a ton of May flowers. This shit is insane. I can't remember the last time I awoke and it wasn't raining.
  22. Fucking storm season. I guess it's time to take my chains in for sharpening and buy a couple new bars. Might as well do a tune-up while I'm at it. Thank goodness I don't have any trees in my yard and the 01 tornado took out 90% of the parents.
  23. Every moment I am there or on my way there.
  24. Happy Berfday! You shared a rebirth with Jesus for once!
