Welcome to the IHoP
I'd use mat wherever possible, then a resin-filler mixture for the rest.

hot girl + hot car = win
Where's the hot car? I couldn't really tell if the chick is hot or not either. Those damn big ass sunglasses. Donuts don't impress me much. Let me see the girl turn some wrenches and get dirty.

Strongest bonding agent for Steel to wood?
I find it funny how they instead want you to use an epoxy-resin based glue, which is just epoxy resin with fillers, which would be the same as glassing. And if epoxy resin will delam at 120, why won't a product made from it do the same. Either way, I hope it works for you.

I don't know what kind of epoxy resin they have, but epoxy resin is used with carbon fiber. Do you pay any attention to Formula1? If so, you know their chassis are made entirely out of CF, and it encases the entire engine and drivetrain, including the exhaust which reaches upwards of 1200 degrees. Granted, it is pre-preg and more durable than what is commercially available to us, but even normal epoxy resin is incredibly durable. Epoxy resin is far more durable than polyester and polyester doesn't have any issues holding up to use in an automobile, or boat, or pool, or. . . I think you get the picture. I get all my resin from www.fiberglast.com

Welcome to the IHoP
Keep in mind, the market is shit, gas keeps rising, and you never recoup your investment unless you get the other vehicle for next to nothing. Trust me. I have done several of those, "oh I'll just fix this and sell it for $$$." You always end up deeper than you plan.

IIRC, that is the 4l60E which is essentially a 700R4, so they are oretty tough unless GM did something fucked up like putting a smaller input shaft in the units for the smaller displacement engines, but I doubt it. They've always made pretty stout transmissions. If I had to pick a weak point, it would be the programming. the 700R4 and 4L60E are almost identical mechanically. they're decent transmissions, but abuse by a healthy small block (gen 1, 2, or 3) will kill 'em. they've upgraded them over the years. there are now 4L65E and 4L70E variants. If you want practically bulletproof, go with a 4L80E. Or a 6L80E. that would be sweet in a truck with it's ridiculously short first gear (4.xx) My buddy had a blown (ProCharger) 95 Z and aside from increasing line pressure, the trans was stock. He abused that thing for about 5 years until the rear end finally popped. God that car was frightening.

The 4L/T80E seems to be pretty damn bulletproof. Abuse and neglect will kill anything though. I find it hard to believe that not changing the transmission fluid will kill a 4L60E though. I'm not sure on how many cars go to the junkyard with factory transmission fluid, but I bet its a lot. Now I will believe that they put a severe lack of tranny fluid cooling and that in turn will kill it, but just use, no way. I've pulled 14 turbo 350 trannies from various junk yards around here. Every one of them has had the factory assembly line plug in the bottom of the pan, so I know at least the pan's never been down. Granted, they could disconnect the cooler lines and pump old fluid out and install new, but I'm pretty sure if they had the aptitude to do that, they would have dropped the pan as well.

Strongest bonding agent for Steel to wood?
Epoxy resin will bond the two, but it should include glass as well.

Even worse. It's equal to giving a man money knowing he will die today and telling him he can pay you back tomorrow.

Strongest bonding agent for Steel to wood?
And make sure it's epoxy resin.

Contact cement won't do a damn thing. You need a mechanical fastener such as Stefan has suggested. If you absolutely can NOT use a mechanical fastener, you're only viable option is fiberglass and resin.

SSA needs to step up there shipping!!!
That's rude. Not every teenager does that. Yes, some do, but don't adults also? I am eighteen but just because i am younger then you doesn't mean i am incompetent. It's not rude at all. It is a fact. He did not type EVERY teenager did he? Once you age, you will look back and realize how stupid you were with many situations. This will be one of them. And SSA ROCKS!

It helps to build suspense. PLus it can be fun when racing and your opponent leaves you and they get big-headed, then you quickly blow by.

haha but he would never notice an old crossover stashed in the trunk. but honestly i dont know what to look for here.. A Coustic XM-7 would be saweet. No t/a, but he won't notice and you get crossover and eq and it will ALWAYS be worth what you pay for it. Actually, they seem to appreciate. THe last one I had, I bought for $50 and sold for $150. I've seen some go for over $200. I miss the good old days. Side note, I think those JBL pieces are NOS. I had one of those crossovers before I bought my first XM-7 ironically.

Monster makes good stuff. Quite expensive and they do some odd marketing many don't like, but it's quality product.

3/4 inch plywood ok for second baffle?
MY cracking comment was not directed towards your post, hence the separate paragraph. However, plywood will hold a thread and a tooth better than MDF. It's just a fact, no matter your experience. THe only reason the hole will splinter or strip is if you tighten it too much. That's where you are having the issue, and if you are using T-nuts or any other kid of insert, you are relieved of that problem.
