Welcome to the IHoP
Our "freedoms" and "liberties" have been slowly and steadily decreased over the years.

How's that lack of freedom of speech workin for ya? :peepwall: Let's see how well it works for you. Go some place public and tell some hot chick you wanna "fuck the shit out of her." Let's see how far that "freedom of speech" gets you. DO I really need to go on here?

I won't list my political views, but I will say that ever idea this nation has become the exact opposite of every fundamental belief it was founded upon. All the colonists who shed their blood was all for nothing.

93 Fleetwood Caddy build.
I hope you plan on reinforcing the rear deck since you removed structural material.

how many amps does your alternator have?
holy, did you ever have to replace your alternator? do u look like a strobe light going down the street when bumpin your music? Still the stock one. No dimming whatsoever at full volume. Must be using "compasitors". I hope that wink means your joking. There will never be a capacitor in my car. There's a multitude of them in there already.

Any idea what the problem could be?
I've had this problem several times. It's always been an RCA issue, or one of the coil leads on a DVC driver. I also fixed a guys car last year who had a similar issue. Every time he would put his back seat up, the bass would pretty much disappear. Circuit city did his install, and when they installed the remote gain knob, they simply threw it down inbetween the back seats and after several months of opening and closing them, it caused a short in the wire, and hence the issue.

Since we are talking about pulley's, when people are talking about installing an underdrive pulley what pulley does that refer to ? Damn gremlins ! Hope you are going to sort them out ! You can either install larger pulleys on the accessories, or a smaller drive pulley. All you're trying to do is slow down the accessories (alt, power steering, compressor, etc.) or reduce parasitic drag.

No real upgrade for the 5.4. There are some for the 4.6 that some companies make adapters for, but the factory intakes actually function and flow very well. There are many 2V Mustangs using the factory plastic intake and making 600+RWHP.

I need to do something in the Explorer. I don't have the time, nor do I really want to mess with it, but dammit, I think the audible range of the stock unit is about 500-5000. No lowend, midbass, or highs. It's like I'm stuck in the 60s with a single 6x9 in the dash.

I thought you had coil packs? Keep in mind they can still have intermittent issues, especially with heat and vibration.

And it will be far over-priced.

Turbocharger
It makes life simple. There were actually a couple nice ones on turbobuick.com

Turbocharger
Personally, I'd try and find a wrecked Typhoon or Cyclone and do a transplant.

Turbocharger
You can't just buy any turbo and stick it on any vehicle. What are the engine specs and exact vehicle?

Even more impressive since it's using B heads.

With a design goal of light, again the RWD would win...and does. It is way simpler to make drive axles that don't have to turn. The top cars in this list are ridiculously light. Top Gear Track lap records - FastestLaps.com Go ahead and show us your FWD performance vehicle in that list and how they all rank on the top as they handle better. I will also guarantee that you put snow tires on any of the cars in that list and run them on sheer ice and they will handle unbelievably well. Much better than any FWD car with snow tires. j/w sean how is the H1 on top of the list? i must of looked at somethin wrong last night. the Caparo T1 is on top now The Caparo H1 Hummer was never there. That's old anyways. There's a "special" Ferrari on top now which was driven by a "special" Stig.

The ironic thing is, the 4V 5.0 is lighter than either the 2, 3, or 4V 4.6 it replaces. So, it out-displaces, out-powers (NA), and weighs less than it's smaller, less-powerful predecessor. They should be in the 12s with nothing more than a gear swap and some traction. I know it has a forged crank too. The rods are a powder steel, do you know if they are the stronger forged ones or would those have to go out with the heads? (I'm thinking in a down the road boosted aplication, because... why buy a car if you can't boost it someday) They will still be able to handle some boost. They've been using the powdered metal rods for years and people have been boosting them. My car still has the stock bottom end with poopy rods and pistons and it has no problem handling 12lbs. The biggest issue I see with boost there is the higher compression and extended RPM range of the new engine. Give it a year and all the bugs will be worked out by the aftermarket.

Speaking of the SHO, I just looked at the 2012 Focus and it looks like a baby SHO. If It comes boosted, I may look into them.

bypassing emissions evap canister???
IT's all good Jon. This could be a reason for the bad mileage, but with the miles you have on that baby, I'd just contribute it to old age. If you haven't had any adverse effects already, I wouldn't worry about it.

Drag Racing fans?
Pro mods are pure sex though! I like watching the crazy fat guys on the nitro Harleys too.

Drag Racing fans?
Love drag racing! I love watching on TV, but nitro in person is like nothing else. As much as I love the nitro cars though, there's a soft spot in my heart for Pro Stock. I'd still rather watch F1 though. Running down the strip yourself is better than watching of course. Doesn't matter how quick you go, it seems like you're flying. Too bad they didn't show much of his car. Hell, he won the damn race and I think Tasca had more mic time than Wilkerson did.

This is very true, lOOk at the first Cadillac FWD Eldorado's made back in the late 70's or the Toranado.LOL. I think the debate started over which was better in the snow??? Each car has it's application in the real world though, I think we have also debated??? Cord actually had a FWD vehicle in the 20s. Imagine a cast-iron inline 8 driving the front wheels. Just a little nose-heavy.
