This guy obviously has his priorities fucked up. I think the narator is spot on. If my job is to make a sale, then that's my job and making rationals why I can't isn't going to help me or anyone else. Some people are come up with reasons why they can't. Others come up with options to get what they need to be sucessfull. In the context of the monologue Alec Baldwin(the person doing the speach) is there to motivate a failing sales team, and he is correct as most of them are "wanting". There was a scene in the Rock too where Sean C looked at Jack N and said "Loosers always whine about doing their best, winners go home and f+ck the prom queen." Even Yoda is down with the rules of the world "Do or do not, there is no try" I beleive to my core that if you're doing something with everything you have in you, you will reach serious acheivement, but those who do not give it their all and complain how sucessfull others who have acheived some desired hight, have really robbed themselves. I chalk all that hand out thinking, or social "greater good" garbage into the same toilette and I think it's better to flush it. I understand what he was trying to accomplish, but to compare his identity to a watch or his salary is just lame. If the guy had said some shit like that to me, I'd punch him in the nose, kick him to the ground, and piss on him. Money means nothing. It's nice to have, but hardly a reason for living. You can say money means nothing, but my guess, and there is no way I can know or for you to prove it, but my guess is that you have never been without it. You have always had a roof, food, or the means to gather those things without having to live on public land and sleep in the snow. If you work, then money means something to you. I could challenge you to live and raise your son without any money for the rest of your days. I think you can agree that it would be a dis-service to him. Money does mean something. I am not saying it's good. I'm not saying it's bad. I frankly don't care about the ethics of an inatimate object. Only peoples motives. You're missing my point. The guy is basing his existence on his watch and his paycheck. He's essentially saying that he is nothing more than dollars and a watch. I know it's a motivational point, and he sees what he wants, and he goes and gets it. I get that, but his whole idea of "money is everything" he's conveying is just stupid. I'm sure it would be different if I had nothing else but work, or I was greedy, but nothing can replace loved one's even money. That's what my life is about. Sure, I love to make money and spoil my son with shit, but it's hardly the reason to live, and definitely does not define my person.

It seems to be the "American Way," anymore. Too many people want something for nothing. It's hard to find people who are actually willing to work for their money, unless they are Mexican.

Wow, did not know they could do that. Seems like the more phones and game systems that have web access are sold, the more posting will happen. On my way to a fun day. There are some homeless people living out of their van at one of my stores that recently closed. Well, I told them Monday they couldn't park there and they left. Went back by again yesterday on my way to another store and they were still there. Asked them to leave again. Got a call from the other guy I work with 30 min. later and he told me the van was still there. I'm heading over there now to tell them one last time before I call the cops, so this should be an interesting morning.
