alternator problem
Quit buying shitty alts. You have to pay to play and that's all there is to it. Charging the battery is not going to help. If the voltage is dropping as RPMs rise, then there is a problem with the unit. Move your ground back to where it was and add another ground as well.

IT could be a small leak that is simply burning up. Your plugs will tell you the story. Did you check the radiator cap and make sure it's keeping rated pressure?

Pull your plugs and check them Jon.

The temp is fine if it is reading in the center. I really wouldn't worry about it. Don't bother with the RP, just go to your local store and get some Watter Wetter by Redline. You can't miss the bottle. It works better and is cheaper to boot.

SO I was just cruising around this shit-hole town I'm staying in (Logansport, IN), and as I'm driving past Burger King, I get this deja-vu feeling. . . . That fucking picture of the fat bitch on the Hover-round was taken here!!!! That very ice cream stand is right next to BK and MacD's is right behind it, along with that Dollar General store. Then I looked closer at the pics and there are cars with Indiana plates, so it has to be here. I'll see if I can get a clear picture on my phone. Nuts.

Are you talking about grounding the chassis of the HU or grounding the HU to the vehicle chassis instead of the stock wire harness ground? IF it's the latter, then I apologize as that is what is best. I misunderstood your type.

alternator ground connection
Isn't always the path of least resistance, but general consensus. It definitely cannot hurt. You can also, just leave all stock wires in place, or if you change them out, always upgrade the size.

I can check at my old man's place this weekend. Does it have to be the Taurus fan? IIRC, the 3.0 and 3.8 used the same fan and shroud. I thtink the Contour used the samer setup, albeit with dual fans. Either way, I'll see what they have and let you know.

alternator ground connection
All alternator frames are aluminum and they all ground through the frame when it's bolted to the block. The bolts may appear to be of the same material, but they are not. They are steel.

i found out after that most of their decks you need to ground to the chasis and not this harness ... if u ground to the harness they will blow If that was the case, they'd have eliminated the ground wire on the harness. Do a continuity check and you'll find the same potential across the harness wire and the chassis. They are common throughout the circuit board.

Good or Bad you make the decision
You're not moving air, you're exciting the air, so driver/port orientation will be of little help. You will still be pressurizing the air within the trunk just as you would if you kept the same application.

Good or Bad you make the decision
Try venting into the cabin better.

I would tell ya, if I knew what you were talking about What's their orientation within the combustion chamber?
