  1. You want a D2 Mag?
  2. Okay, there are two spots where G-bodies are notorious for rust, the rear frame rails and bottoms of the doors. I specifically asked the sellers how these areas were before going to look at the vehicles and was told both were mint condition. I can tell you mint does not mean swiss cheese or freshly painted rust. What a waste of time.
  3. That's not how it works. The baffle is what isolates the front and rear wave. The rear wave is not exiting through the vent, in fact it's not exiting at all, nor is the air in the vent or the enclosure. It's simply being excited by the rear of the driver just as it is in a sealed enclosure. The air in the vent and enclosure is still a spring, not a pump. Think of it this way. Take your hand and wave it in front of your face. You feel the air correct? Is the air moving? No, it's simply being excited by your hand. This is how sound is created. Now stand in front of a fan. That is taking air from one spot and physically moving it to another, essentially pumping air. The front and rear waves are still out of phase, as is the vent, but not 180 degrees, so cancellation is not an issue. Your idea may work, but it will take some testing. It will not be optimal that is for sure as you have the driver on an actual vent wall, but many systems have been designed to couple the output of the vent and the cone at the same spot. Think JL's Pro Wedge, or whatever they are called, enclosures. This has been done many times for years and years; it's nothing new.
  4. Saw those, but that's a little too pricey for non ES models.
  5. I usually do a wet sand with 2K before polishing if they are that bad. The key to keeping them that way is multiple coats of wax every month or so, or clearing them.
  6. Going to look at a Regal and Cutlass tomorrow.
  7. Tom, whatever you do, DO NOT TOUCH THE EXTERIOR OF THAT CAR! Aside from maybe a wheel change. I am a big Rallye wheel fan
  8. I don't know what you did wrong, but the coding was all screwed up.
  9. The insulation on welding cable is far more durable than any car audio type cable. It's rated for direct burial and higher temps as well. Unlike the 12V industry, the welding cable is regulated, just like commercial and residential cable.
  10. Fixed it for ya.
  11. I loved Michael, when he was Michael. When the "king of pop" shit came around, you knew he was whacked in the head. RIP old friend.
  12. Werd!
  13. That's called the core support. You will have to cut all the spotwelds to remove it. Judging by the picture, I'd venture to say it pulled in both front fender aprons as well. You really should take it to a frame shop first so they can tell you exactly what is wrong, and how wrong it is. IMO, if you don't know how to remove the core support, you really shouldn't be taking on this project.
  14. You can do nothing to repair it. Don't waste your time. Recone is the ONLY thing that will work. Does the driver even move? You have bottomed the shit out of it, I wouldn't be surprised if the former is smashed and the coil is rubbing as well.
  15. Anyone know of a free mp3 burning program? My Nero 7 is totally fucking up every file and I just hate it.
  16. Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between this driver and the previous MJ?
  17. Chrome is not bad.
  18. Thank God! Get Mosley out of there! WTF is up with RBR? Switching power next year? Vettel and Webber are doing great, why fuck it up?
  19. Fuck man. . . The boy is teething and has not slept well the past few weeks. I was just on the edge of sleep and he woke up, so I fed him and put him back in his crib, now I'm wide awake, but dead tired and only going on 4 hours sleep already and have to wake up in 4 hours. Dammit, I'm going to have a stroke by the time I'm 35.
  20. That's what you get for buying Chrysler.
  21. That would be me and that would be the car. The beater gets better mileage, but I don't like to drive it unless I have to.
  22. I like my Blue Moon and I'm sticking to it.
  23. Speaking of sucking gas, I got 16.6mpg last week and 80% of my driving was on the highway. I think my foot may be a little too heavy on the on and off ramps.
  24. I love the heat, but spending the past two days in stores with sub-par AC (80+ with humidity damn near equaling temp, and we all know what that means) has me ready for the weekend.
  25. Why do they always have to butcher the real cars and the rice-box shit gets away scott-free?
