  1. The W7 is a good sub but it is overrated and way overpriced. And NO it is not an SQ sub. Then what is it? It cant be considered an SPL sub..since soo many people are breaking SPL records with W7's right? Don't get me wrong I wouldn't consider it to be an all out SQ sub but thats what it mainly is. A SQ sub that can get loud but not THAT loud. Thats why ppl always make threads about "I'm looking at buying a W7" and ppl say all of the time, why not look at a Fi Q or an SI Mag...When Q's and Mag's are SQ subs that get pretty loud. A W7 is an LSQ subwoofer. JL has spent too much time and money trying to re-invent the wheel. They built a much better product when they were a just a subwoofer company. An old school W6 will wipe the floor with a W7. The old W6 cannot compete with the W7 in any term. That's just a fact and I have no idea how you've come to your conclusion. Only the end-user can determine whether a sub can be labeled as a "SQ" driver or not. The list is long and mighty and some are even very surprising. In fact, there was and IASCA competitor who won several times using Pyle woofers of a newer (read PA) vintage, so you cannot rule anything out. We come again full circle to the old adage, "it's all in the install."
  2. I'm never going to find a car.
  3. Went on some test drives today. Loved the Zephyr, but I can get a brand new decked out Fusion with all the same shit, sans the Lincoln badge, etc, for the same price. Lincoln LS is way smaller than it looks. I think my Mustang interior is roomier. Jag XJR, again way smaller than it looks. Love the power, but it's drive-by-wire and it's very slow to respond.
  4. That's still not correct. The suspension geometry is still not in spec. The driveshaft angle is not in spec, etc. . . .
  5. Wheels are unsprung weight. Weight added to the vehicle, such as the stereo equipment you will not notice much due to the fact that it is supported by the suspension. The only thing supporting the wheels are the ball joints. Adding unsprung weight increases wear and decreases the ability for the suspension to perform as designed. I could go on. Now with that all said, if you really want to get technical, there is no "correct" way to lift these vehicles for these enormous wheels. They simply were not designed for it. To do so "correctly," would require the suspension to be in proper factory alignment which will never happen outside of a spec-designed kit such as used on truck suspension lifts, and to keep weight distribution and center of gravity the same as well, which you'll never get as you're raising the vehicle.
  6. I couldn't have said this better myself, especially the highlighted advice. Screw every piece of ass you can until you die.
  7. Howdy! We all did!

Sweet! I almost bought one a couple months ago. 93 and the same color with only 26K on it, but they wanted $12K for the car.
  9. I did a Momentum article on an M3 with the full Dinan package with that exact Powerdyne. I just went to look and my old Photodump account is dead, or I have long forgotten the password. In addition, I checked on CS.org and the server is busy so I cannot link the article. Wrote it some 4 years ago, but still applicable in this instance. I miss writing for Momentum, in a way I would like to restart the Mag. I know Neil enjoys writing, and maybe we could get a few others to bring it back to life supported here. I know AudioJunkies is there for a reason, but maybe bringing back Momentum which was more focused on the average experienced audio and automotive nut on the net would be worth it. I'd love to see your article. http://forum.carstereos.org/momentum-magazine-f82.html Not sure which edition it is. This one. http://forum.carstereos.org/tech-presented-denim-t54811.html No pics though.
  10. How about everyone grows the fuck up or they get a time out?????
  11. DIYMA is a FUCKING JOKE!
  12. As I said, in order for a ported box to sound almost as good as a sealed box it has to be over sized and tuned low. When hasn't that been the case with ported applications? In order to go ported and sound right you have to sacrifice alot of space. How so? Larger enclosure will lend itself to efficiency while sacrificing power handling. What do you consider a "low tune?" Tune too low and you have a very flat, obnoxious monster.
  13. That's a no-brainer. Take the Caddy, throw money you would have been spending on one of the others in an IRA, and buy the Pantera in a couple years. With a baby on the way, you want something you won't have to worry much about. With the Caddy, everything is free and if it gets tore up, who cares?
  14. Why is it every fucking car I want to buy in my price range coincidentally sells right before I call on it?
  15. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's all hope for a boy! Dave---Boy Aaron---Boy Me---Boy Sean---???
  16. And your stretch better turn into tears. Will be a total crock of shit if they blow the last game.
  17. Found a steal on a car, but it's 4 hours away and I HATE driving.
  18. I did that with my Taurus the first week I had it as I had no deadening. I did use duct tape instead though.
  19. Passenger side rear.
  20. I can't tell anything, but I doubt anyone can over the computer. Explorer or Mountaineer?
  21. I about shit myself when I rode in my Boss's AMG black series. I love that car!
  22. Could they have taken some shittier photos? And damn, clean that thing. What a disgrace.
  23. What's a "dam decison?" I also don't know what the poll choices are either. Never heard of a "4 level 4 15 walled of 2 sundown saz 3000, " nor a "2 level 4 xl crx box of 2 sundown saz 3000."
  24. To help reduce/elimintate basket resonance.
