Depends on your goals, likes, skill level, and ultimately, budget. Just having better drivers doesn't mean it will sound better. You will hear a common phrase used; "it's all in the install." Heed this information as it can make or break your entire system.
  2. Well, what type of music are you most akin to listen to? I listen to pretty much everything, aside from country, so if it were me, and I had the room, I'd put that puppy right at 2 cubes net, with 24-30 square inches of vent area and tune it between 30-32.
  3. so how much are we talking sir. Shoot me a PM if you're interested, and I'll get it from my dad's place and snap some photos, and what not.
  4. It's just a more robust design. The avalanche diodes are far better suited to high voltages, so they are a MUST for a high output alternator. Unfortunately, they aren't always used, and what's even worse, is the parts are so cheap, it not even worth it to NOT use them. A good analogy would be a comparison between two 1000 watt systems. One is run with 8 guage and a 30 amp fuse, the other with 4 guage and a 120 amp fuse. Which one would you want?
  5. How much power are you planning on feeding this? I'd go with more vent area in 2.5 cubes. That seems awfully large for that driver also. IIRC, the VMax were far more acclimated to a smaller enclosure than the XLs, and that's XL territory there.
  6. Transpo makes the best stuff on the market. I wish I'd have know you were having problems with your alt. I have a brand new 4G rectifier I had made for my car that I never used. It's got 80 Amp avalanche diodes. I'd have made you a smoking deal on it as well.
  7. Well, there's the fender plaque that says, "camaro" in their classical lettering. The only part for me that really gives it away is the roof line. The forward-view shots really bring it out, and the side shots as well. Tom, post a couple shots of yours and you'll see what I mean. It's almost dead on.
  8. Tomorrow is my last day of fun. I have colonoscopy scheduled for Friday and Thursday is cleanout day. No solid food for 1.5 days is going to SUCK! Especially when one whole day is going to be spent shitting my life away.
  9. I'm tired.
  10. SO the car I'm thinking about buying is going to auction next week if not sold, so I'm thinking about sniping it in 2 weeks. Might be able to get a steal here.
  11. All my audio stuff: amps, HU, crossovers, preamp/EQ, Subs, mids, tweets, wiring, etc. . . Oh, and some Mustang parts. What kind of H/U do you use? I can't remember, haven't talked with you guys in a long time. Sony Specialty Series.
  12. I stopped when the Cornheiser show ended.

  14. Read the title of the thread.
  15. MAn, she must really like that thing if you spent more on parts than the actual vehicle is worth. Good luck in your search.
  16. No shit. I can get the Volvo and the Fusion both for $22K, but the Volvo is $850 more expensive per year to insure. Not worth it IMO. Found me something nice AND cheap, so hopefully I'll be able to get this bitch.
  17. Another test drive tomorrow. This is starting to get ridiculous. FYI, insurance prices for Volvos are insane. A perfect driving record, over 10 years with the same company, and almost 30 years old means nothing.
  18. Your best route will be Ebay, but this will only help you if you can install it yourself.
  19. My opinion, it's an abomination to the name. . . Guess I'll have to see one in person before I can truly judge. I can't tell you how many cars I've seen photos of and hated, yet when I saw them in person, I liked them.
  20. That's no Kicker product. Your friend got ripped.
  21. Massive "for sale" post coming soon.
  22. If applied properly, oh yes.
  23. Midbass monsters if applied correctly. I am using them in 4 vehicles.
  24. Nothing yet. Going to look at an MB C230 and Lexus ES300 tomorrow.
  25. I'm less than 6 months away from that.
