It was my noobishness, i thought it was going b/c it wouldn't charge past 13.9 volts. with everything off. Over the winter, early spring it was sitting at 14.3-14.5 volts. with everything off. It won't put out anymore than it needs to to charge the battery properly. My guess is, at the time it was reading higher, either the battery needed more charge, or something was needing more current demand.

Agreed. If you insist on sealed, they will work quite well, but it is not an optimum performer in acoustic suspension.

Stay away from alternatorparts.com. Their $50 stators cost them about $3 a piece and can be had through other channels if you search enough. You are going to have to pay for good quality parts though.
