Welcome to the IHoP
Oh, I'm keeping it. There's not enough reason to downgrade to the GT, no matter how pretty it is. Plus I already have too much money wrapped up in the Cobra.

Or is it the glue ? No, it's the PVC. I had to use elbows, but cut off the cup and was going to glue them into the MDF so it would be flush on the inside and have no impedance to the airflow. That didn't work out too well, and they ended up being too wide for me to fit the enclosure between the strut towers. SO now, I have one wasted 90* elbow and a stick of 3" with no use. Slot vent FTW! Side fire them That was the plan from the beginning, but I don't have enough width. Why not bend the port inside the enclosure and have the side fire ? I don't need the bend inside the enclosure. It won't work that way. If I had a pic, you'd see why. It's all good though. . I just have to finish the slot, cut a hole for it, and it's good to go.

An Answer to RE's price hikes:
Again, this has already been covered. This is going nowhere and there's really no more input that can be gathered.

An Answer to RE's price hikes:
it worked for JL Audio, didn't it? worked for macintosh, audison, brax, tru, dls, etc.... get real man. take your energy and use it in a business course or something. If you didn't mean to start any shit, you should've reworded your reply in a more appealing fashion.

GOt PWNT today. Being as how I've built hundreds of enclosures, I get into that routine where my measurements don't need to be checked. Yeah, bite my ass. My perfect cut sheet for the amount of wood I have left has now left me with a slab piece 11/16 too short. Dammit.

My project car will be a turbo 4, but ONLY becuase the engine is a proven performer and I have experience with it. I really love inline engines! They are so smooth, but the 4.6 in my Cobra is surprisingly smooth as well. I just wish the chain drives were a little quieter.

Saw a sweet Black 03 GT at a lot yesterday. It was beautiful. I really miss my black car and I'm contemplating a trade, but I don't like the fact that the GT will never retai any resale value versus the Cobra.

You don't have to worry about warranty, so throw that out the window. Also, where as the smaller engine may make more horsepower, it's taking more boost/compression to do so. This causes increased wear. Also, think about parts. Parts for the newer engine will be more expensive and less accessible. The only positives I see are the weight advantage, and the fact that it's an inline engine and they just last longer(if properly maintained) that a standard V engine. Another thing to think about concerning mileage, is it may be easier for the larger engine to push the car versus a smaller one having to work harder, i.e. burn more gas, to push the vehicle. People automatically assume the smaller engine will be more fuel efficient, but many times, a larger engine has to work less to do the same work. What's that word, oh yes, ENERGY.

If I had to choose a good GM 4 cylinder, I'd go with the Quad4 over the Ecotech. Nothing impresses me about that engine atall.

SI Dealer Demo Car
Damn, that matched up pretty good! I was so happy with the fit in my car that I scrapped my original idea and am going with something a little similar. I was going to go with the Lotus set as well as I wanted drop in replacements and the Seas beat out the Revelator in IB, so I think you're on the right track. Look into Rainbow as well. If I ever had to buy a complete component set, that would be the manufacturer I'd choose. Also, talk to Nick if you want to go the DIY route. He's great with crossovers!

Assassin or Kv.2...?
Do NOT base your decision on graphs from a computer program also. They are never 100% accurate and are marginally close at best. That is unless you're talking about LEAP or a similar product.
